Small and Independent Press Books discussion

Our own fellow group member (and a Goodreads friend of mine), Lance Charnes, is the author of three self-published novels; Doha 12 is the only one of them that I've read so far, but I don't intend for it to be the only one! This was Charnes' first novel, but he wrote it with an uncommonly adept and assured style for a debut novelist, and he puts his own background as an Air Force intelligence officer to good use in constructing a gripping tale of Middle Eastern terrorism and counter-terrorism. You're welcome, Lance! I'm really looking forward to reading South. It won't be my first read of 2018, as I'd hoped, because there are some review books that have to elbow in ahead of it; but It'll be one of the first.
