Our own fellow group member (and a Goodreads friend of mine), Lance Charnes, is the author of three self-published novels; Doha 12 is the only one of them that I've read so far, but I don't intend for it to be the only one! This was Charnes' first novel, but he wrote it with an uncommonly adept and assured style for a debut novelist, and he puts his own background as an Air Force intelligence officer to good use in constructing a gripping tale of Middle Eastern terrorism and counter-terrorism. My review is here: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show... (it includes a bad language warning, but I gave the book an earned five stars anyway.!).

Thanks, Werner!Doha 12 was the November/December group read for the Action/Adventure Aficionados group. In case you're interested in jumping in, check out the discussion thread (warning: here be spoilers) and if it sounds like your kind of thing, feel free to join up.
