This one was hilarious! I can't believe I'd never read it before. Although the inspiration might have been A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court, I prefer to think of it as Galaxy Quest with time travel and Golden Age SF writers. I'd love to hear the back story on how this was written. I did find this interesting article: http://www.philipkdickfans.com/mirror...
Highly entertaining. I'd like to think that the current SF writers have their own precogs club. Wonder why he picked Anderson as the main precog. Almost every name drop are amusing. Didnot recognize some of the names, though, especially the ladies. I need to read more of those Golden Era writers. From the article: "Well, as PKD wrote "Waterspider" in 1963 how could he know that Anderson’s story appeared in the May 1971 issue of If? If it ever did?"
PKD is a precog.
