Lynnm | 3025 comments This came up fast! Here's the reading schedule for Queen Margot.

FYI - Since the forum is a bit off schedule for the main reads, we're going to do this book slowly so we can get back on schedule. We were originally going to read the book over a two month period; now we'll add two weeks to that.

Chapters 1-6: March 19 - March 25
Chapters 7-12: March 26 - April 1
Chapters 13-18: April 2 - April 8
Chapters 19-24: April 9 - April 15
Chapters 25-31: April 16 - April 22
Chapters 32-38: April 23 - April 29
Chapters 39-45: April 30 - May 6
Chapters 46-52: May 7 - May 13
Chapters 53-59: May 14 - May 20
Chapters 60-66: May 21 - May 27

Thanks. And you are right, it sure did come up fast.

Renee M | 802 comments Oh, I'm so happy about this! March had been so kooky that I thought I'd have to forego this read. Hooray for slow!

Lynnm | 3025 comments Warning: I just started reading the book, and it reminds me of what Dickens does in some of his novels. Lots of historical background that makes you wonder if you'll ever be able to understand the novel. But once you get past it, it's fine.

I might also watch the film before really getting into it. I usually don't do that but just to get some of the background. Not saying this is for everyone, just something I'm thinking of doing. I have watched the film, but it was years ago.

Janice (JG) I'm hoping to fit this into my reading schedule because I really need to fill in all the holes in my embarrassingly sparse knowledge of French history, especially the revolution. This looks like a great schedule, very doable. Thanks!

Piyangie | 170 comments I was thinking whether I could read and join the discussion of this book because I have so many under my belt for the moment. But looking at the reading schedule gave me hope :) It is slow and doable. Now it is a matter of finding my ebook. Thanks.

Charlotte (charlottecph) | 165 comments I wasn't aware that the discussions had already started. I guess I have been unlucky with the technicalities. I have been clicking on "view activity" every day on the link next to the book on the group page and this comes up, also now:
https://www.goodreads.com/group/show_...
Here it says that there are no group discussions for the book yet. I wonder if other members can't find the discussion either.

I'm not sure why you are having issues. I haven't been having any.

Anyone else?

I am not having any difficulties. Have you checked the group notification settings? I have had problems in the past but managed to fix them in a reasonable amount of time.

Baylee Burger Are we planning on reading the whole series together or just this book?

Just this book.

Renee M | 802 comments A few of us would like to continue with Queen Margot. Is there any objection from the Moderators to my opening threads for the remaining chapters?

I see no problem with that, Renee. Go ahead. Lori had the same idea. Thanks for thinking of it.

Renee M | 802 comments Thanks, Rosemarie!

Readers,
I'm going to open the next few threads now so you can comment where you are in your reading. :)

Linda (lindy-lou) | 9 comments Thank you, Renee. I'm not going to quit Queen Margot, not just yet, anyway. It's uphill, though, that's for sure.
