Yeah!! So we start reading April 1st? We have to agree on how to read it!

Yeah! There are plenty of ways to do this. There are not certain rules to go by. We can decide what we want to do. For example, we can decide we write our thoughts after every 5 or 10 chapters or simply when we have finished. Or we can write whenever we feel like it. Or we can make a reading schedule and try to stick to that, like day 1: chapters 1-5, day 2: chapters 6-8 etc. Whichever way we think will suit us best :) I've done different types of buddy reads so anything's ok with me. What do you think?

I think we could comment every 5-10 chapters, but it depends on how long are the chapters.
I brought my book on Amazon, but it arrives the 20, so I don't know how long the chapters are.
If they are too long we could comment every 2-3 chapters or so.

That's ok for me. I'm getting my copy from the library closer to the date so I don't know the lenght of the chapters either. We can decide later once we see how long the chapters are.

It's planned for April 1st but if you want to start earlier I think it's ok. As for me, I might not get the book from library earlier.

Sounds great!! I've wanted to read this book since it was released. I'm sooo excited!!!! I think every 200-300 pages we could write our thoughts. but depending on spoilers idk how well this method will work...

The Amazon copy has 416 pages, so we could write our thoughts every 70-100 pages, so we can comment more often.

I've read parts 1 and 2.

The concept of the story(view spoiler)[ seems interesting. It reminds me a little of Night circus, which I read last month. I can't wait to see what Caraval is really like now when the game's about to begin for real. The surroundings sound beautiful but there's definitely something dark about the place. (hide spoiler)]

So far I like the characters (view spoiler)[but I wonder about Julian's past. Who is he and why did he come back to Caraval? Maybe he really is Scarlet's fiance, or maybe he's Legend. I'd like to know why Scarlet and Tella seem to be so special. And their father sounds terrible, by the way! (hide spoiler)]

I'm starting "The night of Caraval eve" and I feel like the fist part is an introduction, so we can uderstand a little the world, the characters, etc. So it has been interesting but not exiting, and I like it because like that the story is better developed.
(view spoiler)[I´m curious about the father and the fiance, like, if they are going to be really important at some point, or just stay in the past. Also about the mother, I think that at some point her disappearance will be important. At last, I´m not there yet but I´m not really surprised about Julian coming back to Caraval, and maybe his scars were made in Caraval, and the death mentioned in the beginning is related to him (hide spoiler)]

Loving the writing. Part one over. Excited for further reading!

Like Belén Bravo, I also have a feeling that (view spoiler)[ Scarlet's and Tella's parents might still have a bigger role to play. Especially their mother's disappearance must have some meaning. (hide spoiler)]

I did suspect that (view spoiler)[ Julian might be Legend. After all, that would explain his disappearances and the fact that the Caraval staff always seems to be so on edge when he makes an appearance. What I don't know is what he actually wants from Scarlet and if he's really falling in love with her. I wonder if their grandmother was THE Annalise that Legend used to love. Then that would offer some clues why Scarlet and Tella seem to be so important but I still feel like I'm missing some pieces of the puzzle. (hide spoiler)]

When it comes to Dante (view spoiler)[ I thought he had something to do with the past events that had taken place in Caraval. But what was that talk about his sister being missing, too? Still so many questions but at least it'll keep the story interesting. And I love Caraval as a setting. Such a beautiful and magical place and the fact that everything happens at night gives the game a curiously dark edge. (hide spoiler)]

I just finished night two, and (view spoiler)[ I was very surprises about Julian!!! There is something there that doesn't make sense, I have a couple theories:
I have the feeling he is trying to hide his identity from Caraval performers (like pretending being Scarlet fiancé at beginning) so I was thinking maybe they kicked him out or something like that.
But that doesn't convince me either, because then why Scarlet and Tella are so important? And if Julian is with Scarlet, WERE IS TELLA!?!? And it looks like Caraval people fear him, why?
What I'm more sure is that Julian isn't really bad, there has to be more in that Rosa's story. (hide spoiler)]
And Dante (view spoiler)[ I don't think he is soo bad, so maybe there is something or someone apart from Julian and Dante that is the "bad" one. (hide spoiler)]
And the last (view spoiler)[ about the grandma, if what you say is true it would be really crazy! I don't know if you've read Miss peregrin's but this reminds me of Jake and Emma (hide spoiler)]

Yeah, I'm also not sure whether (view spoiler)[ Julian is bad or not. I don't think dante is really bad. I think he's just damaged by things happened in the past. I never came to think about where Tella is if Julian is not with her. I guess I just supposed he's left her somewhere to wait while he's out and about :) (hide spoiler)]

I'm done with the 4th night. I hope to finish tomorrow :)

Things just keep changing. It turns out (view spoiler)[ Julian wasn't Legend after all. I didn't expect him to die, though! But I think he'll wake up somehow. Either Scarlet wins the game and uses her wish to save Julian or perhaps everything's just an illusion after all an nothing that's happened has been real. I guess nothing would really surprise me at this point. (hide spoiler)]

I'd still like to know (view spoiler)[ Legend's reasons for doing all this. Is it only vengeance over what Annalise did to him or is there something more personal going on? And I wonder why is the girls' father in Caraval with Scarlet's fiancé? How did they find out where the girls had gone? Did Legend tell them? And what are they trying to do? Are they trying to get the girls back home or are they just part of the game? And I'd like to get a better explanation why Dante was killed. Because he worked with Julian who worked for Legend? Or was that just a trick of the game,too? I'm a bit confused about what's real at this point :) (hide spoiler)]

I'm reading the second part. Still enjoying it.
The atmosphere is so whimsical<3
They've just entered the game.
But I also expected to see something about Tella at this point but nothing so far. Hope something comes up about her soon.
What do you think of Julian?

Well, I just finished and loved the book! I kind of liked Julian all the time. I had many theories about him and couldn't really decide whether he was a good guy or a bad guy. That's all I'm saying, though, because I don't want to spoil anything :D

What can I say, (view spoiler)[ this book really kept me guessing 'til the very end. Always new surprises. I loved the setting. Caraval was so beautiful at night! Finally all questions were answered but I would have liked some more reasonable explanation for Tella's resurrection than Scarlet wishing her back to life without even being granted any wishes. Anyway, that was a minor flaw and on the whole I loved the story. It was quite unique and I definitely didn't guess Tella was behind it all. However, I'm not sure about the sequel (I guess there'll be one because this was marked as Caraval #1). There definitely are some plot lines to follow, like Tella's and Legend's relationship and finding Tella's and Scarlet's mother who obviously is alive, but the next book might be very different from this one. I guess we'll see :) (hide spoiler)]

Sorry I've been missing, I'm traveling so I kind of forgot, but I also finished the book, and I really liked it, the story is really great and as Kikijanika says is surprising 'til the end!!
I may be too late Sundara but I think Julian is a very interest in character, from beginning to end!
(view spoiler)[ Something that made me mad is that everyone but Scarlet knew the truth, and even if is what it make the story I'm sooo angry!!! Even do it was interesting that all was Tella's plan!
Another thing is that is really cool that at the end everything is "just a game" like the cover says, in the sense that nobody in Caraval die, is really original.
And the last thing is that when I found out Julian wasn't Legend I guessed that he may be Legend's familiar, even if it didn't make a or if sense in that point, so I was really happy when he says he is Lengend's brother, I think it adds something really pretty to the story (hide spoiler)]
