Simple Writes discussion

Hello! Welcome to Simple Writes! I'm Willa, a bookstagrammer and booklover fond of words. I hope that you'll enjoy this group! I made it because I noticed that there are not many writing groups simply for you to write in. They all seem to have contests and challenges that can be fun, but hard to participate in. This group is a way for you to share your writing free from those distractions.

Go ahead and introduce yourself here! I'll start, I guess: My favorite book is The Night Circus, and I'm a lover of YA. Mostly I write realistic fiction. Recently, I've had so called "Writer's Block," but I'm working through it and hoping to get some productive stuff in soon. I also love photography!

Hi, I'm Gee! My favorite book is Lord of the Rings, and I've been writing since I was thirteen (going on twenty at the moment). I mostly write fanfiction for now, as I don't have time for much else, but when I do, I write sci-fi and fantasy!

Hi Gee! Glad you joined :) What is your FanFiction based off of?

At the moment, I've got four running. One based on Star Wars, on earth on the X-Men, one on the Avengers universe, and one on the Now You See Me movies.

NYSM is my jam! I love those movies. Also X-Men. Can't wait to see what you've come up with!

I'm Raevyn. I just lost my best/favorite project to the perils of malfunctioning technology, but I'm trying to be optimistic. At least I can start a better draft now, I guess. :)

I've been writing since I can remember, but I didn't really start writing anything decent until around high school. I typically write fantasy-fiction, but I have written one historical-fiction piece that I adore.

I'm glad you're taking such an optimistic approach though! My laptop once erased my first attempt at writing fanfiction, and I've never tried again. I should probably get over that incident and finally give it another go ^.^'

I'm so sorry about your project! I've had similar struggles with technology, but I don't think I ever lost my writing. That's horrible. I'm glad that you feel you can start up again! If anything, you can start it up ten times better, because you might have a better idea of what you'll do and where it will go based off of what you made before. Good luck, and thanks for joining!

Hi, everyone - I'm Lorinda, a baking blogger who loves to write (and eat, of course). I can't give up my blog, but am making a serious move towards fiction. Just wrote my first novel during NaNoWriMo and am trying to get some motivation to do the hard work . . . editing. It's contemporary fiction, with an unusual (maybe non-existent?) genre, because I'm writing a romp set in an assisted living residence.

Lorinda, that sounds really interesting! Congrats on finishing your novel during Nano!

I'm Fey, and I've never written anything properly until now. it's a mixed race MC which I haven't read any books with one and being k8xed race myself I thought why not try. its a fantasy/contemporary book which I started writing in January. I'm probably not as experienced as you guys but I can't wait to see how this whole book writing thing goes!

Hello, I'm Hallie! Let me be candid: my writings are absolute trash, and I joined this group with the hopes to change that. Normally, I write poems, songs, and horror stories (which stew more asinine that scary), but I do want to expand my writings to other genres as well. Thank you for the invite, Willa! :)

I'm L, and this group looks awesome!! I've loved writing ever since I was in 4th grade, but I have a hard time being positive with my work. Hopefully this group will help!

My favorite books are The Lunar Chronicles and The Selection series. I also love reading mysteries and thrillers, and I would love to write a contemporary thriller one day! I have a few ideas, but it's hard to get it all sorted out.. haha.

Can't wait to see everyone's work!

My favorite character from The Selection? Oh, that's too easy! Maxon for sure. He's such a babe ;) When I met Kiera Cass she wrote in my book and said that Moxon was mine..I freaked out a lot. Haha !

Hey everyone! It's so nice to meet you all, and thank you so much for the invite! Name's Mira, and my favorite book right now is The Name of the Wind. I absolutely love reading and writing, have from a young age, but I'm still trying to get a better grasp on English, as it's not my first language. Writing helps a lot with that, though! I have so many ideas, but I'm currently working on a magical realism piece. However, it's still in a very incomplete and early stage, haha.

Hi, Parth! I'd love to recommend some books to read. I actually have a shelf of books I'd recommend, you can check that out for some good books, or my "darlings" shelf, which are all my favorite books.
