Our April group read theme is Book to a Movie, specifically action/adventure books.

You can nominate any book you want so long as it meets the qualifications below. (Please recall that we don't vote for books we've already read).

Here are the other considerations:

1. One nomination per group member. The books must be nominated with a Goodreads link by clicking on 'add book/author'. If a book does not have a Goodreads link, it will not be added to the poll.
2. Books need to be readily available, ie, in print (able to buy new or in ebook format).
3. Books should have some degree of action/adventure content.
4. Past group reads are not eligible to be nominated again. The past group discussions remain open for members to comment. You may see the list of past reads here:

https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

5. Books must be either standalone or first in a series (or they may be later in a series if constructed to be read as a standalone).

Please feel free to include a blurb for the book so others know a little about the book, along with your Goodreads book link.

The poll will go up on March 20th.

Jim (jimmaclachlan) I'll nominate Nothing Lasts Forever by Roderick Thorp. It's the book that the movie "Die Hard" was based on & it was republished in 2012, so it's available in Kindle format as well as paperback.

It is the sequel to The Detective which was also a movie (1968 starring Frank Sinatra)

I haven't read either, but they look interesting, so I plan on reading both in order.

I will nominate Shutter Island Shutter Island by Dennis Lehane

The year is 1954. U.S. Marshal Teddy Daniels and his new -partner, Chuck Aule, have come to Shutter Island, home of Ashecliffe Hospital for the Criminally Insane, to investigate the disappearance of a patient. Multiple-murderess Rachel Solando is loose somewhere on this barren island, despite having been kept in a locked cell under constant surveillance. As a killer hurricane bears relentlessly down on them, a strange case takes on even darker, more sinister shades--with hints of radical experimentation, horrifying surgeries, and lethal countermoves made in the cause of a covert shadow war. No one is going to escape Shutter Island unscathed, because nothing at Ashecliffe Hospital is remotely what it seems.

Nice choice!

Another nice choice!

Lost Planet Airman I'd like to nominate The Maze Runner by James Dashner. I know it's young adult and science fiction, but I'm just in a low-key mood today; sue me!
