I have read The Mothers and The Serpent King and enjoyed both of them tremendously (especially The Mothers).

I don't have any of the others on my must-read list, but we'll see. I have heard many good things about Lilac Girls, so I'll probably read it sometime.

I've read the Lilac Girls. It was really good.

I have The Serpent King on my to-read shelf. I'm also interested in The Nix and Behind Closed Doors, which I hope to read with the group next month. I picked up a copy of Lily and the Octopus on sale, but now I'm hesitant to read it. I'll have to wait until I'm in the mood for that type of story.

The one that I was most excited about reading in this category was Lily and the Octopus but in the end found very disappointing.

The only other book I've read in this category is Behind Closed Doors which I loved.

There are several others on my tbr but the one I want to read the most is The Serpent King - anyone up for a buddy read?

I might be, but my reading has been down a bit this month. Let me take a look at my plans and see. :)

Sorry to leave you hanging on this one! I can't believe the month is almost gone already. I'd like to buddy read The Serpent King, probably the end of April.

Since you are a much faster reader than I am, I have a question for you. Would you prefer to read it at your own speed and finish it quickly or go through it a bit slower? Basically, I can read the physical book and it will probably take me a good week to finish or I can listen to the audio during a road trip I'm planning and finish in a day or two.

No worries, as I said I wasn't in any rush so happy to go with whatever date suits you.

Regarding buddy reads, I prefer to discuss them as we read rather than discuss at the end ..... so I would prefer (and happy to) to take it at your pace and have some kind of loose schedule to keep me on track
