Harpe sat down, gazing around the cave. "how did I end up here?" she wondered, touching the sides carefully

Shard stared from the back of her cave at the stranger. What was she doing here? She had no business trying to steal her treasures. She leaped out of the shadows with a hiss. Her scales were a a vibrant, yet diluted purple. "What are you doing here?" She growled.

Harpe leapt back with a muted shriek. "Who are you?" she asked timidly, uncurling and stretching forward to peer at Shard's scales. "You're purple!"

(( yes captain obvious harpe she's purple lmao ))

Shard gave her a weird look. "Im Shard." She said distractedly, examining her scales. The purple faded away and was replaced with a light green. "Now they're green." She pointed out with a small laugh.

"Wow, I'm guessing you're a hybrid then!" harpe resisted the urge to touch the now green scales. "How did you come here?"

"I flew here." Shard responded, still intently staring at her scales. "This is my home." She tried to study the scales on her face but she didn't have a mirror on her so that was irritating.

Harpe whisked her tail across the floor, creating a small clattering noise. "Oh." she said awkwardly, not sure whether Shard wanted her to get out. "I'm sorry I came into your home." She examined her own scales along her tail, a opal-like color that had never been seen among IceWings. Queen Iceflake had told her she was a rarity, but she wasn't sure it was true

"Yeah..." Shard replied though it was hardly an answer. She grabbed a colorful rock and used it as chalk almost to drawn an oval as wide and tall as a dragon on the cave wall. She placed her two front talons in the oval. "I enchant this oval of stone to become a mirror." She said. The rough oval slowly glossed over into a mirror. "Much better don't you think?" She asked, examining the scales on her face in the mirror.

"YOU'RE AN ANIMUS????" Harpe flinched as the oval turned into a mirror. she couldn't help it, she didn't have the best of encounters with animi

Shard shrunk back. "No." She answered quickly. She tried to cover up the mirror with her wings. That dragon did not sound happy about her being an animus. Today was actually quite a good day for Shard. She hadn't turned super mean and I-Wanna-Bite-Your-Head-Off-Yet.

"Then how..." Harpe trailed off, her eyes automatically drawn to the mirror.

"How what? Is there something wrong?" Shard asked nervously. She gave Harpe a forces smile. Her tail swished along the ground nervously.

"If you aren't any animus, how did that just become a mirror?" Harpe slowly raised her eyes to Shard

"What mirror?" Shard asked. She gave her a nervous, giant grin. Her tail shook slightly and she kept glancing around.

"I know you're messing with me, Shard." Harpe said, narrowing her eyes significantly at the mirror Shard was trying to hide

"Ok and what if I am?" Shard asked suspiciously. Her wings were beginning to get tired and were sagging a little. If you tried really hard you could see a sliver of the mirror but at the same time it looked close enough to her wing.

"You haven't answered my question." Harpe tilted her head to try and see the mirror. "And you can stop trying to cover it. I just want to know how you made it."

Shard gave Harpe a curious look. She rested her wings at her sides. "So you aren't going to kill me? Right?" She took a step back, melting slightly into the shadows though you could still see most of her.

"I'm not going to kill you!" Harpe ruffled her own wings, indignant. She's not a KILLER, though she didn't love animi, she wouldn't kill them. Unless it was self defense.

"How do I know that?" Shard said narrowing her eyes. She slinked farther back into the shadows. "You might be plotting to murder me as soon as I let my guard down, but guess what. Im not gonna." She flexed her claws and all her muscles were tensed.

Harpe eyed Shard, wondering what she had done to piss this dragon off. "I have nothing against you," she said, trying to calm shard down. "Usually I'm not this far from the palace anyway."
