I personally have only read the Farseer trilogy and the Tawny Man trilogies, so that's where my opinions are going to be coming from.
The problem with my opinions is that they totally changed from the first trilogy to the second one. So I feel like I should do it separately...buuut I won't
I loved Kettricken. she was very strong and she did her best during the tumultuous time at the end of the second and most of the third book. I really like the way Hobb wrote her temperament and that Fitz could rely on her as a friend. Also, I really enjoyed Verity and how kind he was to Fitz, even when he didn't have to be. Burrich, because he always tried to do right by Fitz, even though sometimes his thoughts were flawed, he was just trying to protect him. I also really loved Night Eyes. How could you not love Night Eyes.
Characters I really didn't care for - clearly Regal, that's a no brainer. But also, I really did not care much for Chade, and that might be a little more controversial. But I just found him to be quite manipulative and, even though he probably did care very much for Fitz, he was so self absorbed and I didn't care for him at all. I also didn't like Molly, which is probably REALLY unpopular. I know that for her character, she did what she had to do, but I found her to be annoying. And perhaps part of that was the fact that it was from Fitz's point of view, so all we really had to go one was his pining and heartache from her, but I was just quite annoyed with her most of the time.
There were of course others that made an impression throughout the series but those were the ones that really stuck out. I also left out the fool. I feel pretty neutral about the fool. I'm not sure why. He just was...quite a bizarre character, and despite his close relationship with Fitz I was just often...confused by him and his role. But that's just me!
What do you think?
