Alina | 24 comments It was mentioned on Simon & Schuster's website that Shadow's kiss is scheduled to be released in November 2017. Who do you think will be the main character? I seriously hope it would be Kosmina's book. I want to know so bad what happened to her and who took her.

message 2: by Lindsay (new)

Lindsay | 80 comments Shadow's Kiss is up on Goodreads as well. But on the product page it says publication date is December 31, 2017. Either way if KC releases a third IAD book this year I will be ecstatic. I think the next Dacian book will be Kosmina because of the big cliffhanger in Shadow's Seduction, but I thought that about Munro's book after Macrieve and we still haven't gotten his story so who knows.

message 3: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 5 comments I would love to see 3 books in one year from KC, especially if they are IAD books!

I think she intentionally jumps around with her characters to keeps us all guessing and on our toes. Personally, I think it is more fun that way.

I dread that too.. I have a feeling that we are going to wait a long time for Kosmina's book, just like Munro's book.

message 5: by Angelika (new)

Angelika | 63 comments I'm optimistic. I think Kosmina's story is all ready. There have been hints since Sweet Ruin (and I think in Dark Skye too).
I think Munro's story has taken the back seat because his brorher's story was propably the least favourite in the series and therefore a failure, Maybe Cole wants to steer clear of the brothers McRieve to avoid a repeat.

Nope. She said she is building up to Munro's book.(she better not stear clear because I have been dying to read that book). Supposedly it should come after Wicked Abyss.

message 7: by Angelika (new)

Angelika | 63 comments Interesting. Thanks for the heads up Kimmy, I haven't heard anything about that. Maybe Darach will play a role in the story since he's the primordial Werewolf. The Morior are here to stay. I must confess that I like them better than the MirCaspion duo of bounty hunters. They're supposedly looking for Mina and I'm not too keen on more of them.
I hope Cole does better with "hotter" Munro. Or is Munro "hot" and Will "hotter"? If Nix doesn't know, what are my chances?

message 8: by Lindsay (new)

Lindsay | 80 comments Goodreads has posted a blurb for Shadow's Kiss (IAD #19, Dacians #3). It will be Kosmina's story, but it doesn't reveal who her mate is. Publication date is April 3, 2018. I am so excited!!!

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Kresley Cole comes this highly anticipated romantic adventure that bridges the world of the Dacians to her “fresh and enthralling” (RT Book Reviews) Immortals After Dark series.

Overprotected vampire princess Kosmina “Mina” Daciano—part merciless swordswoman/part bashful, awkward damsel—has never been allowed to venture from her antiquated and isolated home realm of Dacia. But Lothaire, the half-mad king, overrules Mina’s older brother and uncles and dispatches her out into the mortal world, reasoning that she’ll either “broaden her horizons or die. As nature intended.”

If the shy Mina can survive life outside of a sun-protected vampire kingdom, where blood is always on tap, will she be able to navigate a modern-day relationship with a ruthless warrior hero?

message 9: by Angelika (new)

Angelika | 63 comments Thanks Meg!
The King of Sands, who's been assumed to be Mina's mate so far, does not sound anyhing like a "ruthless warrior". Maybe he's a new character.
April 2018 is too far.

message 10: by Lindsay (new)

Lindsay | 80 comments Angelika:
I was thinking the same thing. After reading Mirceo's book I thought the sand sorcerer would be her mate but he doesn't fit the "ruthless warrior hero" description. I'm kind of thinking Mina's mate will be Brandr the Berserker.

message 11: by Angelika (new)

Angelika | 63 comments @Meg: I thought of Brandr too but I would not call him "ruthless". He is noble, loyal, the stalwart best friend. I'd like someone more shady for sheltered Mina. Maybe one of the Morior... But I think that's wishful thinking. I believe Cole will create a new character.

 ♬ ☮ Priya ♀ ♏ {Smoke and Starlight} ☠ ☯ (darkskies) | 10 comments This has me hoping! I really want it to be Delshazior!!

message 13: by Lindsay (new)

Lindsay | 80 comments I think her mate will be a character that has already been introduced because in the blurb it says this is a romance "that bridges the world of the Dacians to her “fresh and enthralling” (RT Book Reviews) Immortals After Dark series."

message 14: by Gim (new)

Gim | 38 comments It could also be Rok, Cadeon's smoke demon friend. It seems so far away, but I am keen to read this and find out not just who it is, but how they get to her. Going to be another good one, I hope.

message 15: by Angelika (new)

Angelika | 63 comments I like Rok. He's an interesting character and I'd love to read his story but I'm not gonna hold my breath. I think his number is way down the list. However, his relationship has already developed alongside other ones. I remember him mentioning a certain Swimbo and then questioning Cade about love and relationships. After a while he announced to Cade that he's settling down. Cosmina hadn't even stepped outside Dacia at that time.
I like Rok with Loa.

♬ ☮ Priya ♀ ♏ {Smoke and Starlight} ☠ ☯ (darkskies) | 10 comments I though Rok was settling down with Durinda. In Rydstorm's book, I remember Rok saying that Cadeon wasn't the only one settling down while Durinda was telling Rydstorm that she was leaving the demon plane to marry someone who was a complete opposite of her. Thought it wasn't explicitly stated, I always assumed they meant each other.

yeah! Also scratch Thad off the list because he is not a ruthless warrior either. Wonder who that is? I hope it is one we have seen before. Maybe it is one of the moriors.

message 18: by Angelika (last edited Jun 20, 2017 02:16AM) (new)

Angelika | 63 comments Durinda is going into an arranged marriage. Can't see Rok doing anything of the kind.
As for Mina's mate, I hope it's the primordial Vampire. I can't remember his name but he's a member of the Morior. Cosmina is sick and dying. If the primordial of her species can't cure her, who can? And why would a Morior care to help an enemy? Only if said enemy is his bride.
Cole is full of surprises and I'm sure I'll like Mina's story whoever her mate may be. But I'm rooting for the Morior. Besides, to use the immortal words of Nix "Your move, Orion." I think Orion is going to play.

message 19: by Gim (new)

Gim | 38 comments Oh, I had completely forgotten about him. that would actually be a great idea. So many are finding their mates this Accession, and already two of the Morior have found theirs. Now I am really anxious to read this book.
Also, surely the primordial of the species can get past the gaolers.

message 20: by Angelika (new)

Angelika | 63 comments Gim, the gaolers had me thinking. Someone must get past them and find something that no one else can. Who is the best tracker in all the realms? Not the primordial vampire but the werewolf. The vampire may be the one who'll cure her but I think Darach will find her and plead with his friend to save her life.
So far, all the couples are inter-species. I can think only of Lothair and Elizabeth and Munraw and his mate who are of the same species but the women were turned afterwards.

message 21: by Gim (new)

Gim | 38 comments The possibilities are so intriguing, I don't know what to expect. This book can't get here soon enough for me. I need to know, now. Poor Mina. I just can't see her with the King of Sands, though. He sounds like a complete wreck.

message 22: by Alina (new)

Alina | 24 comments Ruthless Warrior. King of Sand is really old, maybe he was a warrior back then. However, I doubt it. Also, Bettina's Salem was a warrior too. But as it is mentioned that this book will bridge gap between IAD and Dacia World and current issues in IAD is Nix's Accession and Morior war so it is more plausible one of Morior is Kosmina's mate. And I think Nix will have a major role as always in finding Kosmina or bringing her mate forward.

message 23: by Gim (new)

Gim | 38 comments I hope we see a lot more of Nix in this book. It always makes things more interesting when she is there, moving things along. she already interfered (helped) with Abyssian and Lila, so I wouldn't be surprised if she was steering things with Mina as well.

message 24: by Angelika (new)

Angelika | 63 comments Nix is the absolute favorite. But she said that now it's Orion's move. She's set up the chess board and she seems to have taken a step back.
I'm really looking forward to more about Orion. I believe he's Nix's mate and they have history. I want to know what kind of a male walked away from her. She must have done a number on him millenia ago.
Finally, Lothaire is bound to make an appearance or two since he's the king of the Dacians. I cannot get enough of the vamp.
All in all, this book can't come out fast enough.

message 25: by Gim (new)

Gim | 38 comments I adore Lothaire. I was a little worried, after reading his book, that that may be the last we see of him, but fortunately, that hasn't proved to be the case.
I also think that Orion should be Nix's mate, but although she has challenged him, I can't imagine Nix just sitting back without meddling at least a little bit. She sees so much, she can't help herself, nudging things along a bit.

message 26: by Alina (new)

Alina | 24 comments Almost all of the couples owe it to Nix. I hope she does interfere with Mina and her mate. She is so quirky; it makes reading so much fun. Also, I think even if Nix is not interfering in fated mates dynamics, they will need her help in finding the cure and if one of Morior is Mina's mate, then it will be interesting seeing them interact.

message 27: by Angelika (new)

Angelika | 63 comments Please note that I am not complaining, but why are we talking about Mina's book and not Munro's? Isn't his story the next to come out?
I hope his will be better than his brother's.

message 28: by Lindsay (new)

Lindsay | 80 comments Right now according to Goodreads, which could be wrong or things might change, Mina's book will be #19 so it will be the next in the IAD series.

message 29: by Alina (new)

Alina | 24 comments No, it is not wrong. It is pretty much confirmed. KC's publishing site Simon and Schuster also posted the blurb and release date which is 3rd April, 2018. So Mina will be next. Maybe Munro will get his story after that.

message 30: by Gim (new)

Gim | 38 comments I feel for Munro, but right now, I really want to know what is going on with Mina. Also, MacRieve was my least favourite of the IAD books, so I feel I can wait for Munro, because while I am hoping that it will be a lot better than his brother's, I am also a little worried that it may be disappointing.

message 31: by Lindsay (new)

Lindsay | 80 comments I just reread some parts of Shadow's Seduction and now I'm thinking Salem might be Mina's mate. Bettina told Caspian that Salem hitched a ride with her when she traveled to Dacia and he was still there. He would fit the description of "ruthless warrior." I think Salem and Mina would make an interesting combo.

message 32: by Alina (new)

Alina | 24 comments Also he has been cursed to take form of phantom. He is invisible to many, which get him an edge for going past gaolers.

message 33: by Alina (new)

Alina | 24 comments Him being invisible can be novel thing. How they come to know each other and connect without seeing each other would be interesting. I remember Salem telling that he had a kindred.

message 34: by Jes (new)

Jes | 2 comments I received a mail from kresley cole (well..her site, not from herself ofcourse) today because of the release of The dark Calling. She wrote a very short answer about the next IAD installment from Nix's perspective: 'I see a werewolf in your future'. Ofcourse It could mean nothing...because it's from Nix perspective..and It could also be about a book after Shadows Kiss...but It could be about Shadows Kiss..What do you all think?

message 35: by Lindsay (new)

Lindsay | 80 comments One theory I have is that Heath and Kosmina are mates. What if Heath was taken to the same mystical prison that Kosmina is in? In the Shadow's Kiss description it doesn't say the name of Kosmina's mate so it could be Heath. The only thing that doesn't add up is that in the description it says "modern day romance" and modern isn't a term that would fit Heath if he's been trapped for a couple hundred years.

I'm a little worried that if they get paired up it will be another book where the hero treats the heroine terribly in the beginning because of her species. Vampires and werewolves are natural enemies after all and if Heath's been trapped he won't know the Wolves have a vampire queen. In my opinion KC already has too many stories where the hero hates the heroine.

message 36: by Victoria (new)

Victoria Castillo (thewayidream) | 8 comments wow...that's a good theory. I have forgotten all about heath, but I don't think he's alive...otherwise the MacRieve's would have ...felt him.
My bet is in Munro or Darach

message 37: by Alina (new)

Alina | 24 comments I think it's going to be Darach. Mirceo and Caspion might get his help in tracking Mina.

message 38: by Angelika (new)

Angelika | 63 comments I also think it's Darach. Only the best tracker can find Kosmina. But I don't think that it'll be like Emmaline and Lachlain's story where they started out as enemies. Darach is above petty spats between vampires and lykae. His best friend in the Morior is a vampire. I don't think he'll treat Mina badly because of her species but because he'll be incapable of controlling his beast which is already too close to the surface for comfort. Mina on the other hand may consider him an animal, a creature beneath her as her knowledge of the world comes only from books in Dacia. She's never come across haughty, quite the contrary she's always modest except for when she's got weapons in her hands. Then she knows she kicks ass like no one else and it's not bragging if it's true. But she'll be sickly. Maybe Darach's blood is the cure to her disease.
Will she stoop so low as to drink from an animal? I already know how the "animal" will feel...
I can't wait for this book.

message 39: by Lindsay (new)

Lindsay | 80 comments I had forgotten about Darach. They would be an interesting pair and I think you're right he wouldn't hate her because he's used to working with a vampire.

message 40: by Victoria (new)

Victoria Castillo (thewayidream) | 8 comments it would be great. Let's hope it's Darach

message 41: by Leigh (new)

Leigh | 2 comments Any news on the Immortals After Dark?
A. Nïx says: "Greetings, my fabulous, minxy Loreans. If you like the IAD, I foresee . . . a werewolf in your future."

definitely Munroe's story, but if Kosmina is the featured heroine in Shadow's Kiss, then....

aw men, I've got excited with your theories about Mina and the Primordial vampire I think that would give Nixie and friends more edged between the Vertas and the Morior if they got more allies from the inside, but this is KC we're talking about here, so, anything goes.

a thought though, Nix's is deliberately helping the Morior's to find their mates, maybe what she really wants is to make a solid alliance between the two and fight the Order. Then again, that would be overkill for those mortals playing gods.

message 42: by Lindsay (new)

Lindsay | 80 comments I just really hope Kosmina's mate is revealed soon, and that her book will be released earlier than December.

message 43: by Angelika (new)

Angelika | 63 comments Wicked Abyss ended with Nix looking up in the sky and saying "Your move Orion."
The way I see it, Nix and Orion are playing a game of chess with the pieces being our favorite loreans.
With her last move Nix won over Lila and Abyssian and set up a trap with Mina as bait. If Orion wants to stay in the game he's got to win this round. I believe he'll send Darach to retrieve her so that he will be able to use her as a bargaining chip with the Dacians. But when I need to bet, I always put all my chips on black. And there's nothing as black as Night personified.

message 44: by Gim (new)

Gim | 38 comments I couldn't imagine that any of the current crop of werewolves would be enough of a match for Kosmina, but Darach, being the primordial would surely be powerful to win her affection.
We already know that Munro has his mate with him, so he isn't a candidate for Kosmina.
I am just so impatient for this book to come out already.

message 45: by Victoria (new)

Victoria Castillo (thewayidream) | 8 comments Or maybes Maddah. he was that wopf that went coo coo in Uilleam's book. It would be interesting the dynamic between the two of them

message 46: by hammerpixie (new)

hammerpixie | 31 comments I have a hunch Mina's mate
will be a stone demon.

- They're known to be ruthless.
- Caspion fought one in his book.
- Lothaire hates demons and the 2
previous Dacian books feature demon mates.
- Munro's mate was given the stone demon curse.
A book with a stone demon would be a nice lead up
to Munro and Kereny's story.

message 47: by Sylri (new)

Sylri | 17 comments And here I was dreaming about a Mina/Harea pairing.

I could have sworn Kresley was setting them up in Mirceo's book, since Harea had a lot of detail and build up and they've both been sent to the same prison. And he swore to destroy everyone Mirceo cares about until.... he finds out his mate is Mirceo's sister!

I thought that storyline was writing itself but I guess not. T_T

And I don't think I could be satisfied with a new Lykae character until Munro gets his book. It's been too long and I need it! I'm just holding out onto the hope she's teasing the next IAD book as Munro's since Kosmina's is technically a Dacian book.

Or something.

Let me dream!

message 48: by hammerpixie (new)

hammerpixie | 31 comments It could be Mina/Harea. You never know which way Kresley might go. I was surprised about what happened to King Saetthan in Wicked Abyss. I thought he was getting set up as a future big player.

message 49: by Lindsay (new)

Lindsay | 80 comments Maybe the next IAD book won't be Kosmina's story. Right now Goodreads still says her book will be #19, the next in the series, but things change. Shadow's Kiss was pushed back to December 4, 2018. This could've been because The Dark Calling was pushed back or it could be because another IAD book is coming out before Mina's.

message 50: by Lindsay (new)

Lindsay | 80 comments Or it could be like what some else said. The next Dacian book will be Kosmina and the next IAD book will be a werewolf.
