Aside from that terrible joke, I'm really enjoying the book. A lot more than the last 2. I will save most of my specific points for the stream but has anyone else started Dark Matter?

I have! I'm really enjoying it as well. Love the simple writing style. Crouch doesn't try to use fancy writing to prove that he's a good writer. A lot of writers will try to be like "oh the glint of the dust hit the crimson red piece of furniture that I sit on when I drink tea." But Crouch takes the opposite approach, explaining "Okay so, there's a dusty room with a red chair." I don't need anything else, I understand completely what's in the room without the flowery language.
Hahaha totally. Poetic writing can be nice but I agree, he has a real 'no bullshit' approach to telling the story and I think it fits in perfectly with the mood the story puts you in. You're too busy wondering wtf is going on to notice the particular shade of moonlight reflecting on the peeling wallpaper
