Justin (justinbienvenue) Has anyone ever read any good books on Wendigo's? A wendigo is a creature from Algonquin lore that is like a werewolf but very frail and bony. It is said to smell rancid, shapeshifts and is cannibalistic. There's quite a few books on them I was just wondering if anyone has read any?

Moreland's Dead of Night is excellent. I read that a couple of months ago. William Meikle's Night of the Wendigo is another one to check out.

Justin (justinbienvenue) I've heard about Night of the Wendigo by William Meikle, I have a few others by him I plan on reading.

There's an episode of the tv show Haven (based on The Colorado Kid by Stephen King) about them and they were...gross!

I'm actually friends with Brian on Facebook I'll have to ask him about this book.

Justin (justinbienvenue) Anyone have any more books with Wendigos? I'm thinking about doing my weekly #RecommendationWednesday on Twitter to have a theme of books with Wendigos.

Latasha (latasha513) the only one I've read is the wendigo The Wendigo they sure are scary! oh Justin, that's a great idea but can you post them here too? I don't have twitter.

Justin (justinbienvenue) Totally forgot about this thread, damn I suck at keep up on certain things. I'm still very much into Wendigos and I wrote a blog post on them I may post on here if anyone is interested. I still need to read a book on them as soon as I put a dent in my to-reads list!

Latasha (latasha513) How many pages is it Justin? I’m interested but if it’s a huge book it’s gonna take me a minute.

Patrick Rutigliano | 14 comments Hopefully, this won't violate the self-promotion rules for the group, but I had a novella published several years ago utilizing the wendigo.
