March 28th is Children's Picture Book Day and April 2nd is International Children's Books Day. What better time than to pick up some kids books? For this challenge, between the days of March 28 and April 2, read 2-7 kids picture books. Maybe some old favorite, like Where the Wild Things Are, or a new book. Feel free to share suggestions here!

Level 1 Preschool 2-3 books
Level 2 Kindergarten 4-6 books
Level 3 Graduate 7+ books

I just read Harold and the Purple Crayon for the first time. I bought as a birthday present for my granddaughter. It is a terrific book.

Baylee Burger | 1 comments I would suggest anything by Mo Williams. My nieces read her books and they are very cute and entertaining.

Maybe a flashback to favorites from childhood.... I think I read everything Marguerite Henry wrote (that my library carried)...many over and over (King of the Wind was a weekly read, and the Misty of Chincoteague series especially)!!

I'm using this challenge as an excuse to explore the juvenile fiction downloads from my local library. I love the idea of a parent being able to call up books for their child in any location. (In addition to the stack of picture books they have at home, of course.)

Level 1 Preschool 2-3 books
1) Leave Me Alone! Very cute!
2) They All Saw a Cat Love the concept.
3) Hot Dog Emergent Reader text.

Level 2 Kindergarten 4-6 books
4) Chloe, Instead Very Sweet.
5) Flora and the Flamingo No text. Adorable!
6) Steam Train, Dream Train Loved!

Level 3 Graduate 7+ books
7) Heidi Very Sweet.

Yay, I'm all done now!

Level 1 Preschool
1 If You Take a Mouse to the Movies Cute series, good to help kids learn to read, or as a quick read for older elementary kids.
2 If You Give a Mouse a Brownie
3 If You Give a Moose a Muffin

Level 2 Kindergarten
4 The Wagon Lovely illustrations. Good for a read to me for younger kids. May even get them interested in the civil war.
5 Ghost Ship: A Cape Cod Story A good one for older elementary, as it is a little long for younger kids to be able to pay attention to. Maybe as a bedtime story for them.
6 A Redwall Winter's Tale Love this addition to Redwall. Again, a little bit of a longer book.

Level 3 Graduate
7 The Great Redwall Feast Another good adition to Redwall. This one is in verse, so younger ones may be able to pay attention to the whole thing.
8 If You Give a Mouse a Cookie
9 If You Take a Mouse to School
10 If You Give a Pig a Pancake
11 If You Give a Cat a Cupcake
