Tessa walked over to the dining room table behind Will. She knew not to disturb him, he was obviously caught up in his worry over Cecily. Wishing she could somehow comfort him, but since she did not know what would make him upset and what would console him, she instead silently took a seat next to him at the dinning room table. She looked at him through the corner of her eyes, wanting to read his facial expressions. "Will," She whispered, trying to draw his attention. "She's going to be alright." Tessa gave him a reassuring smile.

Will opened his mouth to say something but as if thinking better of it, he closed it again and all he said was "I know." his face did not reveal anything of what he was thinking which was mostly worry for Cecily and Jem. Just as he replied, Cecily entered the dining room, wearing a riding cloak, her hair tied in a braid. "Where do you think you're going?" Will asked as she sat down. "Riding." she said. "After breakfast." Will nodded but as she sat there, he looked at her with a frown on his face, trying to discern whether she had any of the symptoms Gabriel had had.

((What were the horse's names again.....? I've totally forgotten))

At that moment, Sophie entered the room with a platter full of biscuits and scones in hand. She put the platter down gracefully in the middle of the table. "Thank you, Sophie," Tessa said, not wanting Sophie's effort to go unnoticed.
"Only doing my Job, Miss," Sophie responded, but she still cracked a slight smile at Tessa. After doing a sort of bow, Sophie retreated back into the kitchen, most likely to retrieve more food.
"You should eat," Tessa said in a caring tone to Cecily. "You need energy to ride." She knew that Cecily wouldn't want to take orders, so Tessa said it like a suggestion, rather than a command.

"I will." she said, daintily picking up a scone. "Do you want someone to come riding with you?" Will asked nonchalantly, picking up a biscuit. "No." she said, not looking the slightest bit sorry about it. "I would like to go alone today." Will shrugged but a look of slight hurt flashed across his face. "Take Balios." he said. "He runs the fastest." Cecily nodded and coughed slightly. As soon as she did, she knew she should have made the cough less obvious. Will immediately stiffened and gave her a very worried look. "I'm fine." she said reassuringly. "It was just one small cough."

Tessa bit her lip, knowing how much Cecily's cough would worry Will. She took a bite of a biscuit herself, but then placed it back down, suddenly not feeling very hungry. She reached over and squeezed Will's hand lightly for reassurance, not wanting him to get worked up over Cecily. She could tell that it would be hard for Will to give Cecily the freedom she wanted.

Will's face was grim but he did not comment on the cough anymore. He gave Tessa a grateful look. "I'm leaving now." Cecily announced, having just eaten a single scone. "Be back soon." Will said as she left. "And don't go back to the den." but Cecily was already gone, leaving Will alone with Tessa. He sighed.

"She's going to have to be able to make her own decisions sooner or later," Tessa said in a soothing voice, looking Will in the eyes. She knew she couldn't completely cease Will's worrying, but she hoped to at least make him calmer. "And I know that she'll make the right one, now it's only up to you to trust her to do so." Tessa wanted to let Will know that she'd be there for him, but couldn't find the right words.

((What if Cecily is taken by Mortmain and she doesn't come back from her ride?))

"She's just taking a horse out for a ride." Will said abruptly. "I'm not worried about that. I'm worried about her being too close to Gabriel Lightwood and catching pneumonia. If she did, I wouldn't be able to bear it and I know that." he stopped and looked at Tessa fearfully, realizing he'd said more than he'd thought he would. In fact, he'd said just what he was thinking which was unusual for him. All of his thoughts were mostly hidden.

((Yeah! And maybe she was looking for a cure for Gabriel or something, and then Gabriel finds out she was looking for a cure, and is grief stricken. Then he could try to look for her, even in his condition.))

Tessa nodded understandingly at Will, combing a loose strand of hair behind her ear. She knew this was a matter that was deeply troubling, otherwise he wouldn't have called Gabriel by his actual last name. Glad that Will was speaking to her about his fears, truthfully, she embraced him and said, "Gabriel wouldn't let her come near him if he thought she'd be hurt. And she's strong, she won't catch it."

((Yeah. Maybe she went to search for a warlock. She knows Tessa can't do any magic except shape-shifting so....yeah. and nobody tells Gabriel that she's gone for a long time.))

Will made a frustrated noise and got up. He didn't want sympathy. He was. ot used to it and had never asked for it but he knew he had almost just asked her for it. If he didn't catch himself now, he was going to say a lot of things he knew he would regret. "I....have to go." he said. "I'll see you later Tessa."

((Sorry, I'm on vacation, so I'll be inactive for the next couple of days.))
Tessa looked away, hurt. She had only been trying to help him; Tessa had believed that she was doing the right thing in comforting him. However, seeing his gruffness towards her... She knew it couldn't be the curse anymore, but then what was it? Wishing she could ask him, she instead resigned to nodding and saying, as normally as she could, to not let him know she was hurt, "Alright. See you at supper." Not wanting to see him leave, she instead turned back to her biscuits.

((Oh. Okay. It's your summer break now, isn't it?))

Will looked at her with more perceptiveness than what was expected of him. He had heard the slight tremor in her voice. "What's wrong Tess?" he asked, sitting back down again and looking at her. "Are you angry at me?" he looked slightly hurt and his eyes were very wide, making him look like he was a child.

Tessa looked up at him, shocked. "Of course I'm not angry at you!" She exclaimed, puzzled, her eyes wide. Not meaning to imply this at all, Tessa was thoroughly confused as to how Will could have mistook her hurt for anger. Staring awkwardly down at the scones, Tessa wished she could just tell him that she didn't want him to worry anymore, and that she wasn't angry, she just wanted to know if he was upset at her. "I-I actually thought it was you was upset at me," She said this in a small tone, almost timidly.

((Yah.))

"No. No. I could never be upset at you." he said firmly. He wanted to hold her hand or touch her shoulder reassuringly but he knew he could not so he just ran a hand through his own hair. "I'm just....upset." he said frustratedley. "Not at you, not at anyone in particular. Just at what is happening now." he looked at Tessa. "I apologize." he said, his face serious. "I'm really sorry Tess."

"If there's any way," Tessa began, and then aught herself. She wanted to help Will so badly, wanted to comfort him and make him feel alright, but she was afraid of betraying Jem. Worried that she'd make a mess of things, Tessa scolded herself for getting to close to Will. Yet, she couldn't help but remember that night, the light scars on her hand a reminder. And here Will was, looking so defeated, so worn down, that she couldn't help but want to comfort him. Tessa reminded herself that she was helping him as a friend before continuing, "I could help you, Will. Because life is too precious to be upset at."

"I thought I was beyond help before." Will said "And now I don't think that. I appreciate your help Tess but....there's nothing you can do." he took a deep shuddering breath and closed his eyes. She was so close to him that he could tpuch her without stretching his arm even the slightest bit and now she was offing to help him. He forced himself to stay there because he knew him getting up would upset her. When he opened his eyes again, they were slightly bright with moisture. "I think everything just needs time." he said, this time, reaching over and putting his habd over Tessa's. He did not even think before he did it. It was almost involuntarily.

Tessa's eyes widened as Will's hand touched her own, but she didn't draw away. Instead she just looked at Will, his eyes reflecting light from his surroundings like the moon reflects the light from the sun, his was a dark sort of beauty. Even after knowing him all this time, his features still took Tessa's breath away. However, she was still in love with Jem, and it wouldn't be fair to Will if she voiced what she was truly feeling. "Unfortunately, time is exactly what we're lacking," Tessa replied, thinking of how no one knew when Mortmain would come for them. For all she knew, everything- Will, Jem, all of it, could be ripped away from her in the blink of an eye. And it was all because of Mortmain.

Will dimly realized that he was too close to her but suddenley, he didn't care. He still didn't want to betray Jem but he reminded himself that touching someone's hand was not much more than a friendly gesture. He forced himself to stop looking at her eyes when she looked at him. "No." he said, his voice coming out slightly breathless. "We don't have any time at all. We cannot afford to waste any moments we still have." He realized she was staring at him. "What is it?" he asked. "What is the matter?"

Tessa blushed as she realized she had been staring at him. "Oh, nothing," She said hurriedly, hoping her rosy cheeks weren't a giveaway. "Nothings the matter at all," Drawing her hand out of Will's grasp, Tessa realized that she was acting very improper. She was an engaged woman after all! It was not her place to be this close to another man. Close enough to feel the heat of his breath against her, close enough to her that she could barely lean over and they'd be kissing. No, this was not her place, and as much as Tessa wanted to stay with Will, she knew that she could not right now. "I really must be going," Standing up briskly, Tessa looked down at Will, feeling a pang of sadness, but pushing down the feeling. "I'll see you at supper then?"

Will smiled, something he did very rarely so it almost seemed to make his face look even more handsome. "Now it's you who's leaving, isn't it?" he said. "Should I ask you if you are upset with me?" he understood that she thought she was not behaving properly but still felt like teasing her. That was what friends did, he reminded himself. He could see the blush on Tessa's cheeks and felt a slight burst of joy seeing that she was feeling the same way he was. "I'm sorry." he said, sincerely this time. "You can stay here. I won't touch you again."

"Dear me, Will,' Tessa clasped a hand over her mouth in fake shock. "You must not say things like that! An eavesdropper might get the wrong idea!" Removing her hand, she cracked a slight smile at him. Reassuring herself that teasing was something friends were supposed to do, and Tessa told herself that she and Will were friends . "But I really must go, Will," Losing the smile, she looked at him, hoping he'd understand. Tessa wanted to visit Jem, she felt as though she needed to stay by him, will him to wake up. Realizing that she might not be alone in this, she asked, "Would you... Like to visit Jem with me?"

"Of course." he said, feeling slightly guilty. With his worry about his sister and his completely inappropriate moment with Tessa, he had completely forgotten about Jem. "I will accompany you." he said and then, as if he had read Tessa's mind. "I want to see him wake up too." he held out his hand to help her up. "As friends." he said, looking at her with his head tilted to the side, brushing away the thoughts about how pretty she looked.

Tessa smiled at Will, gratefully taking his hand, and repeated, "As friends." She let him help her up, because helping someone up was a friendly gesture. Knees shaking slightly, Tessa wondered what condition Jem would be in right now. She expected he would be in the same comatose state, the Silent Brothers had told her he would be like that for a while, but she still couldn't help but worry. Looking up at Will, she said, in a slightly shaky voice, "Do you believe he'll be alright, Will?" Right now, she was hoping for Will to just comfort her, tell her Jem was going to be alright, because she couldn't comfort herself at this moment.

"I have no doubt about it." Will said. "I can feel it here." he touched the parbatai rune next to his heart. "If he would never recover, I would know." he said. "I would be able to feel it." he held her gaze. "He must just be recovering." he said. "He has been on the drug for more than five years." Just as he said that, he felt a searing pain right on the parbatai rune. His face paled. "We have to go now." he said, turning around to leave before Tessa could reply.

((I'm pretty surprised I haven't asked you this yet but just to be sure, are you team Will or team Jem?))

Tess opened her mouth, and made as though she were going to say something, but stopped herself. From the way Will reacted, it could mean that Jem was in danger, and anything she said might delay their arrival. As Will said before, everything needs time, but there is no time at all. Instead, Tesssa just dashed down the hallway with Will, straight towards Jem's room, praying that he was alright.

((I'm team Jem, but I recall you wanting to get Tessa and Will together, and RPs are for both people, so that's why I'm alright with sparking some Wessa romance. :) ))

Will opened the door of the room as soon as he came there, expecting no-one to be in it except Jem. When he opened it though, there was a Silent Brother there. Brother Enoch. Will stopped short.

((Maybe Jem wakes up now?))

((Ohhhhh. This does create some conflict....I assumed since you liked Gabriel, you were team Will. Anyway, do you want Jem and Tessa together?))

Tessa stopped short, her breath catching in her throat. Jem was no longer lying on the bed, but rather sitting up, and having a chat- well, if you could call it a chat, with Brother Enoch. Jem turned to face the open door, his face breaking into a grin as his eyes rested upon Will and Tessa. Clutching a hand over her heart, Tessa could barely believe it. Her eyes wide, she ran over to Jem's side, embracing him, pulling him close to her. "I can't believe it," She whispered, holding him tight.
"Neither can I," Jem replied, his voice slightly cracked, since his long slumber had given him a dry mouth. "You look even more beautiful than the last time I saw you." His hair was black now, and falling over his eyes slightly. His face was still pale, but there was color in his cheeks.

((I think that we can work out a way where both get together. Like we discussed before? I was fine with that idea. :) And Gabriel's my favorite because of his character development, as well as his comedic relief scenes with Will. XD))

Will stood there, unable to believe his eyes. He did not know what to say or do. He had imagined Jem like this ever since he'd met him. Now he just couldn't do anything. He walked over to him as if he was in a dream. Tessa was still hugging him so he just stood by, not saying anything. He noticed Jwm's eyes were a dark black. "Welcome back." he said finally. Feeling very awkward standing there while they were embracing.

((Well....okay. It was that one where Jem doesn't want to be with Tessa anymore right? XD. I shouldn't make assumptions. I always assume everyone is team Will :D))

((Maybe Jem and Tessa and everyone could think the wedding's back on, but on the eve of the wedding it's discovered that Jem actually needs the Silent Brothers support? Or something like that? It'll make for great Internal Conflict with Will. :D))

"I hope I didn't miss too much," Jem replied, still smiling out of pure joy, his eyes lighting up with excitement. "You know what this means?" He stood up, and soun Tessa around. Once he had stopped, he said, in a voice that radiated happiness, "We can get married! A-And this time, I can give you a full life Tessa!" There were tears of joy brimming in Jem's eyes; he was in a state of euphoria.
Tessa choked back tears herself, and her face broke out into a grin. "Oh, Jem!" She exclaimed, kissing him directly on the lips, Jem holding her face close to his. Releasing it, Jem looked over at Will, "And you'll never have to go to that bloody den never again!"

((Actually, I think it's the one where Jem needs the silent brothers support to keep living, so he has to go off to silent city, and he gives Tessa and Will his blessing.))

((Ok. If you're fine with Jem and Tesaa not heing together....))

((Kay. I actually figured he could still be immortal with the silent brothers help, and eventually they'd wean him off of it, so he could live with Tessa around the 1950's or something. But idk.))

Will almost choked at the word marriage. He did not want to show his feelings though so he just kept his stone-faced facade for a second to compose himself. Even though he always reminded himself Jem was engaged to Tessa, he had never imagined going to their marriage. He tried to force a smile but felt as if it was more like a grimace. He hoped they wouldn't notice. "Well, I have a lot of memories in that den." he tried to joke. "I'm really going to miss six-fingered Nigel." he bent down and hugged Jem so that he could drop his forced smile for a few seconds.

((Oh yeah. Maybe Jem turns immortal. Then he can still have Tessa later. Just like Cassandra Clare wrote it except he doesn't become a Silent Brother this time. I always felt that was too harsh))

"Ah, the infamous Six-Fingered Nigel," Jem laughed, reminiscing. He hugged Will back, then released him, saying, "Will, I'm sure you already know this, but," Jem took a deep breath, looked Will in the eyes, and said, grinning widely, "I want you to be my best man!" Jem looked ecstatically at Will, hoping for his parabatai to match his own excitement.
"That would be wonderful!" Tessa exclaimed, beaming. A strand of hair fell out of her bun, but she was too happy to care. Jem was back! However, a part of her remembered being with Will in the dining room, and being close to him, feeling his breath against her. And as much as she hated it, a part of her yearned for that again. However, she just grinned wider and said, "Sophie can be the Maid of Honor!"

"I would love to." Will had composed himself in a short time and managed a proper grin this time, appropriate to the news though he didn't know how much longer he could hold it. The past five years of his life had been about hiding his feelings but now since he was getting better at showing them, he couldn't hide them that well. He looked at both Jem and Tessa. "Congratualtions." he said, maintaining the grin. "I'm sure you two will be very happy together." his voice cracked slightly on the last word and he coughed slightly to cover it, suddenley feeling like all his feelings were going to pour out.

"I know we will," Jem smiled at Tessa, clasping one of her hands in his own. He so badly wanted to lean over and kiss her again, hold her close to him, but he felt that would be excessive,'especially with Will and Brother Enoch in the room. "We should go tell Charlotte the good news!" He exclaimed, squeezing Tessa's hand lightly and affectionately. "The Angel knows she needs to hear some!" Jem turned to Tessa, his face going pale. "I just realized something," Jem looked at Tessa almost sadly. "You need a new wedding dress." His face brightened up immediately, cheeks rosy, "But it's alright! We have all the time in the world to get you a new one!" His eyes glistened with happiness at the prospect of living a full and content life with Tessa.

Will felt like throwing up. He knew he had to leave right now or he was going to say something he would regret. "I just remembered," he said, rather too loudly. "I said I would go riding with Cecily. She's already left and I'm getting late." he quickly glanced at Tessa hoping she would understand. She knew how he felt and he knew she didn't reciprocate his feelings. He turned around and walked out of the room, not stopping till he was in the stables. He saw that Cecily had taken Balios as he had said and he saddled Xanthos. It looked like he was going to go riding after all. He sat on the horse and galloped out of the stable.

Tessa watched Will go, knowing full well it would be wrong to stop him. Jem turned to Tessa, looking slightly confused and disappointed, "Did I say something to him?" He asked, sounding rather hurt. "I would've thought he'd been happier... Something's troubling him," Jem concluded, nodding sadly. "I only wish I knew what it was."
"It's okay," Tessa replied, squeezing Jem's hand lightly back, feeling guilty. "I know that he's ecstatic you're here again. It's just, he's worried about his sister, Gabriel caught pneumonia, and he's worried she will too." Tessa knew that wasn't all that was bothering Will, but decided not to say any more.
"Dear me,' Jem sounded horrified. "Is Gabriel alright?" He knew that Will had never liked Gabriel, but no one deserved to have pneumonia.
"He's been quarantined," Tessa looked out the window and saw another horse galloping away. Without even seeing the face of who was riding it, she knew it was Will.
