I love all my I think my favorite is horror and paranormal suspense. But it is sooo hard to decide my favorite.
I like anything scary and lots of Fantasy. Favorite book... I'll list a few. Harry Potter, LOTR, Narnia, Inheritance. Yeah.
I also really love choose your own adventure books! You authors out there, Have you ever thought of writing adult books that we can choose the ending on? I'd love to see some of these but don't know if that is something weird to ask for! lol When I was younger I loved these types of books but I can't find them much in adult books. Mysteries would be good I think to use for this lots of endings type book. I think I would read the book many times to see all the endings.
That's very interesting. I'd thought about that. Alternative endings kind of do the same thing, just a bit different.

I think with horror books you could have different characters and in the choose your endings they could all be different killers.....or something like that. lol different characters..... just a suggestion

Have anyone read the "I Hunt Killer series by Barry Lyga"? I really enjoyed this series the characters were funny and even thought the book was about serial killers I laughed more than I thought I would in this series.
Anyone know any other books/series that make you laugh, maybe something like this that was unexpected?

I have yet to read Dean Koontz! Isn't that crazy? There are so many great authors out there I just haven't got to Dean yet. You may talk me into the trying him though.
Aly wrote: "What is your favorite genre and what is your favorite book?"My favourite book changes almost daily and I love most genres, but I'll admit I'm a romantic at heart and love anything with romance in it!
David wrote: "I like anything scary and lots of Fantasy. Favorite book... I'll list a few. Harry Potter, LOTR, Narnia, Inheritance. Yeah."Is the Inheritance Series the Eragon books? Been meaning to read these! I love dragons!
Aly wrote: "What is your favorite genre and what is your favorite book?"Like a lot of people have said, I like lots of genres. And picking a favorite book! I don't know if I ever could. Maybe I'll put together a list of books that have made me squeeeee by genre.
HELP! Need book recommendation for my mother. My mother is 82 and loves cozy mysteries/ WWII themed books. She LOVES
. She doesn't like anything too violent, or bloody. And she's from England so any mysteries themed in the UK makes her happy. If you can think of anything PLEASE let me know!
Have you tried Ellie DeFarr? I really enjoyed her mysteries. Haunting Memories from a Troubled Past, Melancholy Manor, They Called Her Paperback Rose. I liked this series.
I have lots of favorites!By genre: Fantasy: Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom
Historical Fiction: The Saxon Stories by Cornwell
Stephen King: (okay so he's not a genre but he's written enough that maybe he should be) The Green Mile for Paranormal type stories and Under the Dome for horror.
Classics: Pride and Prejudice
I don't read many mystery or thrillers but I absolutely loved Gone Girl, and The Passenger by Lisa Lutz was pretty good too.

Thanks for the Saxon Stories by Cornwell tip! I'm very interested in that.
You are welcome! I hope you enjoy them as much as I do! If I had to pick favorites of favorites the Saxon stories gets it every time. Uhtred is my favorite fictional character of all time. And I loved Cornwell's portrayal of Alfred the Great.
I don't have favourites, although sometimes I'll talk about favourites in the plural and mean things I really like. When people ask me what my favourite ___ is, I never have an answer.
Science fiction, speculative fiction, thrillers, horror. Too many to name, but you can see some of my 5 and 4 star rated SF titles here:

Aly wrote: "Anyone found any great books lately?"I love, love, LOVE The Face You See: The Broken Series: Book 1 and The Face Beneath by Amelia Legend, they are the first contemporaries (with some romance) I actually enjoyed and fell in love with. So good!
I also fell in love with the Jewel trilogy by Trish Beninato, I just adore them Acceptance
My favorite genre is scifi specifically tech noir and cyberpunk. In that category I would say The Edge of Human . It's a great book for blade runner fans!
Aly wrote: "What is your favorite genre and what is your favorite book?"I like romance, but I also like other genres. Favorite book maybe Finnikin of the Rock by Melina Marchetta or Megan Whalen Turner's books.

I love The Thief! They are such great books.
Has anyone else read 60 Ways To Die In South America? I won't claim it is great fiction but it is one the best books I've read in a long time. I literally laughed until tears were running down my cheeks. It is also pretty much sex/curse word free of that bothers you. The author is Tracy Ashworth. If you are a kindle user it is offered free quite often. I recommend it highly.
Aly wrote: "What is your favorite genre and what is your favorite book?"For a while now fantasy has been my favourite genre. This started with a recommendation by a fellow Bookstagrammer who suggested I ease into the genre with Sarah J Maas' A Court of Thorns and Roses (I LOVED it). There were a few things I had issues with, namely the treatment of Feyre by pretty much every man in the trilogy, but I still enjoy rereading them. The plot is so fascinating!
But recently I was given an ARC of Jenna Moreci's The Savior's Champion. (it is also fantasy!) And, wow...I was BLOWN AWAY! It is about Tobias Kaya, a 20-something-year-old labourer who is trying to support his mother and sister, after an accident killed his father and crippled his sister. He gave up his dreams as an artist and has come to terms with it. But when the Savior - a glowy woman who saved the Realm of Thessan from sure destruction - comes to marrying age, and his best friend joins the Soverigns Tournament (a bloody battle of around 20 men for the affections of the Savior), Tobias is angry. He believes that anyone who joins the tournament has a death wish. Until he finds out the amount of money that would be sent to his family if he won. After his sister has a nightmarish bout of pain, Tobias knows he has to join the tournament!
Love and death swarm around him as secrets of the palace come to light and a healer steals his heart (out of love, not actually stealing his heart from his chest! Haha).
This book was amazing! Jenna writes healthy relationships, incredible fight scenes AND she is a self-published author doing it all on her own (apart from the professional edit, of course!).
Anyway, I really LOVED this book and wanted to share my thoughts here too! Fantasy rules!

I like romantic comedies, fantasies, some sci fi, and little of this and that. I go by whatever the description is and go from there. If it has scenes like incest, rape, and too much gore, I stop. Book series I gotten into is The Green Ember. Okay, it's meant for kids, but I don't care. It's a good series about rabbits with swords. It's about Heather and her brother Picket. They find themselves meeting all sorts of friends and betrayals. It's a great clean fantasy. The author isn't done with the series.

My favourite genre for a while now has been historical fiction. I love Kristin Hannah’s the Nightingale and Anthony Doerr’s All the Light We Cannot See. I’m also a big Sarah Waters fan.
My favourite genre is romantic suspense - every single one of Chloe Walsh's books give me life, she is hands down my favourite author!
Emma have you read Those Who Save Us by Jenna Blum? It is WWII fiction. I absolutely loved the book.

This group read Anthony Doerr’s All the Light We Cannot See as one of our first group read! :)

I love classics of the 18th century and in my opinion one of the greatest book ever is "The count of Montecristo" by Dumas
If I had to narrow it down, I'd say I love thriller/suspense and dystopian the most, BUT I appreciate and read lots of genres.
My favorite genres are fantasy, science fiction, and mystery but I like just about anything, including westerns and romance (though not all that wild about them). Probably the only genre that I don't care to read is erotica, though I've read a few good ones. My most favorite book of all time was probably The Pride of Chanur by C. J. Cherryh which I have read about 6 times. But it is hardly my only favorite book by any means.
My fave genre would be young adult or romance. it's hard to choose just one. and my favorite book. that's a tough one. I've read so many great ones. I'll have to think about it. But for now I think I'll have to say I really enjoyed wallbanger. it just stood out for me.
My favourite book that has been my favourite book since as far as I can think back is Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi. The action and romance is amazing but if you look deep enough into the REAL meaning of the story and the beautiful way Tahereh writes, I think you can see how a war survivor wrote such a piece of art and how the book reflects that.
