the rivers are flexing as the snow thaws
the land is reanimating with the lightning of spring storms spurred
the horses' ears are circling for sound
in the window constellations framed a map of this evening
I will stare till these become burned retina etchings
a silver net to collect wishes
our thoughts braid with melodies
and wander into the night
but your tune
this filigreed melody
frets our nerves
from the stall to the horizon
the summer bolts
thrown into memory
to stir lost loves from their tombs
a jagged scar of light
pulsing
gasping
back to life
