Henry Birnbaum | 40 comments As I am preparing for a holiday on the Iberian peninusla, I am about to immerse myself in their literature. Any recommendations for buried as well as non-buried authors?

I am finding it rather difficult to get a grip on what is going on over there. So far I only got Pessoas „Book of Disquiet“ and Camilo José Cela who apparently got the nobel prize for literature in 1989 and has two well read and a few not so often read books here on Goodreads.

Jimmy (jimmylorunning) | 94 comments Maybe a little late to the game, but The Time of the Doves by Mercè Rodoreda is a really good under-read Catalan author from Barcelona.

Mimoun by Rafael Chirbes who is from Valencia. This was a very good book as well.

School of the Sun by Ana María Matute -- another Barcelona author, quite under-read, quite good.
