Jessica | 41 comments So I got a little excited in March after I read Descender vol 1 and I've already read Descender vol 2, and I really liked it! I really enjoyed the artwork - I loved how they used watercolour art. I also really enjoyed how the story has progressed - it's definitely gotten interesting. I'm excited to see where this series goes :)

Derek Bailey (drock5400) | 27 comments I actually read this one a little while ago as well and I liked it a lot. I think this might be my second favorite graphic series right now. I love the art and the world and the characters are fantastic. For me though, this one didn't feel quite as good as the first volume. I think it does a good job of addressing some of the big surprises that came at the end of the first volume as well as setting up some new plot points and reintroducing a couple of characters that didn't seem all that important in the first installment, but overall, this definitely felt like more of a transitional volume. I'm still obsessed with the series and am very excited to see what the next one brings.

Matt Carl (pressenter) | 55 comments I don't have much to say other than I don't like the series at all.

Tokio Myers (tokibear) | 2 comments I don't mind the series but I want the story to progress to something a bite more interesting. Yes, robot societies and kid brotherhood is cool, but I have seen and read way to many anime/manga to find this four star or five star worthy.

I do looovvveee the art style.

Kelsey | 61 comments I'm getting these from the library, so I couldn't do a side-by-side comparison, but the color scheme struck me as richer and the art generally more varied in this volume than in the first one. I'm also starting to get invested in the expanding cast of characters a bit more.

That said, the story just isn't all that interesting for me, nor does it seem particularly original. Volume 2 left me wanting to continue with the series since they're quick reads (I wouldn't have read past Volume 1 except that 2 was nominated here), but it still wasn't 4 stars for me.

Anna (vegfic) I read volumes 1-3 today. Vol. 2 was the weakest. I like this series much less than Saga and Monstress. I don't really have much to say, it's fine, it's OK, it's 3 stars.

Anita Reads | 43 comments I read volume 2 last week, and I really enjoyed it. I think volume 2 was better than the first, I really enjoy the storyline, and I find myself super invested in the story. Definitely my favorite graphic novel so far for this.

I still have to read Saga vol. 6, and I love that series, so we'll see.
