Em (Hannah) (hannahtester96) | 1256 comments Name: Ava (Ay - va)
Age: 24
Height: 5'3"
Sexuality: Pansexual, but conservative in that aspect

Bio: Ava is a young woman who's always known exactly what she wanted - professionally that is. Even though she was five, she knew exactly what she wanted to be: a lawyer. But she didn't want to be the kind of lawyer most people want to be, she wanted to advocate for those who most don't advocate for and she'd fallen in love with it in school. Now, she's graduated, her future is looking bright, she's been accepted into law school - but she misses the connections she once had with her friends and her loved ones - which is what prompted the get together.
Ava has always been a reader, so during college she reads her textbooks for fun and spends most of her time with one person - her best friend. Other than that, she limits her free time to books and making sure her managers at her internships like the work she does.
Which leaves little time for a love life - which Ava has always been particularly okay with. She gets enough affection from her best friend, and feels as though she doesn't need to have any more in her life especially since she was moving away for law school.
Focus: Law - specifically advocate for lesser parties or for people who can't afford lawyers.

She grew up with her nose always stuck in a book on her free time, but after school she was always on the fields - playing softball or running track. mAYBE. We could do like a half n half of the first two we had?? Like a couple (or a group of friends, whichever) goes on a camping trip, or... like they just go on a little adventure, make a day of it (I’m thinking of a fantasy-esq land, or medieval old-timey maybe?? if you’re into it) and they are either kidnapped or walk into this abandoned hut in the forest that looks spooky af (maybe the village/town/place nearby says its haunted but they don’t believe it and it’s like a Hansel and Gretel thing where the person who lives there, or kidnapped them there, is a cannibal/killer??

is that the craziest shit you’ve ever heard or😅

message 8: by Mal (new)

Mal (malxox) | 5568 comments Mod
Or we can scratch the Hansel and Gretel parallel and do a forest thing where the weird spn thing is actually a serial killer idk 🤔

message 9: by Mal (new)

Mal (malxox) | 5568 comments Mod
Or like a couple graduates college and is like hey man let’s go on an adventure—! And they roll a dice and go to some random places, a lot of traveling and stuff or whatever and have a rad time and then they hit this cool old inn place that used to be like an orphanage or something weird like that (https://wall.alphacoders.com/big.php?...) idk but ya historic and there are other people there. Anyway they meet a bunch of people that they like there and they stay up and hang out and talk and get along really well and either (A) they go out the next day, see the sights, some weird shit goes down somehow paranormal or reality, or (B) weird shit starts happening at the hotel. Maybe it’s snowed in or there’s a storm or something, somebody dies, there’s a ghost, idk something like that 🤔🤔

message 10: by Mal (new)

Mal (malxox) | 5568 comments Mod
I’m not gonna lie to you, mate, I really like the last idea 😂😂 cause wow imagine these two bffs, or flat mates or something going on these adventures after college cause wtf are we gonna do now let’s have some fun while we figure it out, and they meet a bunch of cool people at the inn hotel thing and stay up late in the lobby and talk and have coffee and coco and talk and the guy main is like ya I did a lot of plays or something (whatever) and like I didn’t get this part I wanted cause I didn’t know how to kiss a guy and it’s my biggest regret and new guy a is like — well, I’m gay, if you want to know what it feels like, ya know, for future parts... I volunteer as tribute and they kiss pretty deeply and everyone else is just 😳😏 and guy Main is with his friend later that night like holy shit I’m gonna go see him and like yes.

But say no if you wanna, just had to say it out loud lmao

Mal (malxox) | 5568 comments Mod
Okay a few questions :D v excited
1) how many characters each?
2) who wants to be guy main?
3) should it be spn/paranormal, or reality (killer)?
4) should most of it take place in or outside the hotel/inn?
5) also is it a hotel or an inn? ;;

message 12: by Em (Hannah) (new)

Em (Hannah) (hannahtester96) | 1256 comments 1.) What if we did three each? I’m kinda in love with the ones I made for this role play so I may keep them, but modify them obviously.
2.) I can play guy main! I know this is silly, but I’m not used to MxM, but I’ve been thinking a lot about how I really want to try. Like really try at it, I realize that FxF and MxF is easier because I write my own experiences etc, but that’s very limiting.
3.) I think we should do paranormal-Esque
4.) Hotel!! Tho if we did an Inn it would incorporate more of the outside world. I think maybe, like in the idea, this place is *supposed* to be haunted, so they’re going their for history and fun and the experience. Maybe the hotel is fenced in, and the city is farther away ?

message 13: by Mal (new)

Mal (malxox) | 5568 comments Mod
1) ok I wont keep mine though, I don’t like reusing if it’s out of genre.
2) pretty 90% of my rps and stories are mxm so I like to think I am a master, even though I’m a woman. But like idk whatever I’m ace so I can do what I want and get away with it.
3) okay so like ghosts? or?
4) ?? okay so a haunted hotel, that’s what I got from that haha

message 14: by Mal (new)

Mal (malxox) | 5568 comments Mod
See that’s the only thing I’ve never tried. I think its because I’m not non-specific and I dont have any friends that are so I dont have anything to run with haha.

Uuuum. None? I have a half formed idea for non-paranormal, but since we decided on something otherworldly I’m out 😅 do you ?

message 15: by Mal (new)

Mal (malxox) | 5568 comments Mod
Well it’s only half formed and idk maybe I’ve been reading mystery’s too much or something but basically s/he is a killer who comes back every few years to this town and stays at this hotel and people die but the hotel has a rep because of it and people who go there often go cause they think it’s bull or haven’t heard about all that stuff and like he hasn’t happened that much but ya this person is one of the people they befriend. Her/his parents or something were killed in this town maybe so that’s why they continue to come back and are a little twisted.

It was raining, and there was crap everywhere. Two hours ago they had been pudding along the road, holed up in their shitty, stuffed car, and then the two worst possible things could have happened to them: the car broke down, and when they got out, lugged their giant packs over their shoulders and started trudging towards the Magus hotel (?) , it started raining. Before Olivia knew it, she and Liam were soaked to the bone, and an hour away from their destination place.

They stuck close to the road, throwing hitchhikers thumbs at passerby's until one bit, but the old woman wouldn't drive them straight up to the hotel-- least she catch some bad juju about it. The website had said the locals were scared of it, but mostly declared that all the killings that had gone on around the establishment were unfortunate and remained under investigation -- and then peacefully moved on to sell the magnificent scenery, and delicate history of the old, rickety place.

Oli and Liam finally arrived at a quarter to nine, drenched with torrential winds and buckets of water. They sloshed through the main lobby, the woman behind the desk regarding them with buggy eyes and a slack jaw. "W...well hello there. Caught in the rain, were you?" she asked vaguely.

"Nah," Oli scrubbed stuck hair away from her face, "Wet is the new dry, haven't you heard?" there was a sincere note of irritation in her tone, it flowed heavily through the sarcasm and sugared the girls cheeks pink with embarrassment. "Right," the girl said-- "Do you, maybe, have a reservation?"

Oli looked at Liam. She was pretty sure they'd put it under his name, and if they knew what was good for them, he would not let her talk again until she had had a shower.

message 43: by Em (Hannah) (new)

Em (Hannah) (hannahtester96) | 1256 comments Drenched clothes clung to Liam's lean figure and covered his skin in chill bumps. There was one feeling, at the very least, that he dreaded the most: the feeling of heavy, wet clothes irritating his skin. Despite having been warned by the mechanic when he went to get the mandatory car tune-up for the trip, Liam didn't realize that the long trip would have completely put his car out. Mentally, he beat himself, having put himself and his best friend in a disgusting and miserable situation.

As soon as he slid his heavy, dripping self into the musky-scented, elderly woman's car he realized that his apprehension of stranger picking them up disappeared. He realized, in that moment, he would allow anyone to pick them up at that point. Dread washed over him, as well as pellets of rain, as soon as she dropped them off nearby, but not close enough. Regardless, he thanked her and let her the crinkled up puddle of cash he had in his pockets. He knew by now that Oli was miserable, and resisted any kind of small talk to get them to the front door.

"God, please let this old place have hot water." He muttered as they walked through the door, instantly feeling a sense of relief as he slung the drenched bags to the floor, hoping that they had some form of electronic dryer.

As they moved toward the desk, Liam went to talk first, but got caught short by Oli's attitude. Anyone who didn't know her would think she was rude or mean - and maybe she was being so in this moment, but that one of the many things Liam appreciated about her character.

"Yes, Ma'am, we do, uh," He wiped at his pants in an attempt to get any of the driplets off of his palms and dove into his bag, pulling out a pathetically limp piece of paper, "Well, I did have the confirmation." Liam chuckled in the way he always did, normally in a way that would charm others.

Instead, the woman stared, without blinking, and averted her eyes to the piece of paper, "Actually, um, if you just give me the name?"

Liam nodded, "Right, right. It should be under McLaughlin. Liam McLaughlin. I made the deposit on the website, but normally at hotels you don't pay until you leave?"

The woman glanced up from her computer, her thin lips edging at the ends, "We run a little different, we go ahead and charge you. Just in case."

"Oh, alright," Liam's first impression made his something lurch, though he wasn't sure if it was the musty stench of his body from the water, or the woman's mentality, but all he wanted was to get to their room. Nonetheless, he pulled out his card and let her run it through, filling out the last of the paperwork as she handed them the keys and showed them a map of the area.

"Thank you, I'm assuming someone will always be up here if we need anything?" He asked as he slung his bags back over his shoulder.

"I'm always here," The woman sounded dry, her cheeks still warm from Oli's remarks. You could tell she just wanted the conversation to be over.

"Thank you," Liam moved toward the right of the large intake area and through the large doorway next to the rounded desk. The wood in the hotel was beautiful, aged, but strong. Liam admired the way it was decorated, which was almost historic, but still aesthetically pleasing to the times.

"I think if you had talked anymore, her cheeks would have melted from her bones." Liam remarked with a small chuckle, "I can't wait to strip out of these clothes."

message 44: by Mal (new)

Mal (malxox) | 5568 comments Mod
Oli scoffed. She trudged after him, trying hard not to glare backward at the young woman at the counter. "It's pouring outside!" she remarked, gesturing (in the wrong direction) towards some window panes, pattering hard with rain droplets. "And she's all 'ooh wow did you get stuck in the rain?' Like -- no, no I didn't, what made you think that?" she mumbled and grumbled her complaints all the way to the ancient pulley elevator buried beside the staircase, of which looked like a very monotonous device used for torture. Her legs hurt. A lot.

She poked the third floor button and bent back against the railing on the way up, "I call the shower first." she declared, wiggling her shoulders. Her fingers were starting to feel numb, but her arms were so sore from the weight pressing down on her shoulders that moving too much at one sounded, suddenly, like a terrible, awful idea. "Unless you wanna share~" she teased with a vague chuckle.

Oli would be the first to admit when she first saw Liam, she had taken a liking to him as something a little bit more than a friend, but ... that never happened. But as the years went by, she found that he was more of a best-friend type than a boyfriend type. Besides, she was twenty-two, and her sexuality was kind of up in the air. She wondered if she and Liam had one more thing in common than she thought -- bisexuality seemed like a possibility. If she ever found that girl than she would know for sure. Here's to hoping it happens sooner rather than later, she was exhausted with all the confusion.

The elevator clambered to a stop, and they stood there for a second, readying themselves to exit, but the elevator just sat ... and just when Olivia was about to start getting wound, the doors clattered open. She hurried out, staring behind her at the old thing. "So that's what the stairs are for," she remarked, scrubbing a tired hand through her hair. "Scary as shit. I wish old places could be cool without the creep factor, sometimes." she admitted. She was only half-joking.

message 45: by Em (Hannah) (new)

Em (Hannah) (hannahtester96) | 1256 comments An internal alarm sounded when Liam stepped onto the swaying elevator, but his exhaustion and stiff limbs allowed him to ignore the alarm.
"I swear, if we get stuck on this thing." Liam muttered, scrunching his eyebrows together as he watched, almost in slow motion, as the metal door screeched shut. The worst part was the slow pace, well, and that the small cube could jerk around so much. Regardless, Liam pressed his side against the wall of the elevator and welcomed the unstable support.

"Oh, Oli," Liam rolled his head around to gaze over at her, a flirty smirk on his lips, "Girl, wouldn't you just love that." He chuckled lightly, but every bit of movement he produced seemed to take immense efforts. His body ached for a hot shower, and to slip into bed, which he knew wasn't going to happen anytime soon. "I wonder what the pool looks like?"

As soon as the elevator doors opened, Liam followed Oli out of it and nodded, "Mental note: taking the stairs from now on." But in that moment of time he appreciated the old elevator, the idea of lugging all of his stuff up three flights of stairs seemed completely irrational and unreasonable.

Liam pulled out the key from his pocket and glanced down at the weathered tag attached to it.
"Okay, it looks like we're in 326." He averted his eyes from the tags to the gold-colored plates next to the doors that were edged with numbers, "Let's assume this way." Liam directed them toward the right, the long hallway branching off to the left and right on either sides. He assumed, since the numbers grew to the right, that that's where their room would be.
"This place almost looked mirrored, it's as though the people who mapped it out specifically wanted it to be symmetrical," He tiled his head to the side as he sauntered down the hall way, "But how does that work with the rest of the place?" He wondered out loud, but shrugged it off, coming to the edge of the hallway and looked down the left and the right.

To the right, the hallway almost seemed to be endless, or his eyesight had decreased incredibly.
Do the hallways connect?
He squinted, but turned his attention to the left, the end of the hallway abrupt a few doors down.
"Oli, what did we get ourselves into?" Liam looked through his smudged glasses, and glanced to the right one last time before turning them to the left. He followed the numbers to the middle door of the three rooms, "Finally."

"Home, sweet home. For a week at least." Liam exclaimed as he ushered the door open, allowed the door to slam back against the wall to allow them a full view of the room they had paid for.
The room wasn't room, thankfully, and seemed relatively updated as far as water was concerned. The bathroom, to the immediate left, contained a large, circular tub, with a shower stall to the side. The majority of the walls and floors were wrapped in porcelain tile. The rest of the room, though, did not compare to the bathroom. In the middle of the room rested a queen sized bed, to the side of that a chair.

"I thought we asked for two queens?" Liam looked over at Oli in confusion, moving forward and slamming his drenched belongings onto the floor.

There was a wet slap against the entry tiles as Oli released her luggage. She scraped back her hair, kicked off her shoes, and stripped off her shirt while padding further into the room. “Well if it stays this cold, we’ll need the body heat. Why, you shy~?” Oli, now shirtless, smirked over her shoulder. She wiggled out of her pants, trying tirelessly to get them unstuck from her flesh. Once she was stripped down to her under garments, she tossed her clothes over the noisy radiator and — “I’ll try not to use all the heat, but no promises.” she joked.

“So,” she kept the bathroom door cracked and rose her voice. She started taking off the rest of her clothes. “I thought we’d get here and wander a bit, buuuut my legs feel like a couple of dead weights. Maybe we should just get cozy, snuggle up, and put on a movie or something.”

She stepped into the shower and switched it on. “Holy shit!” Oli yelped, “Heads up its cold as fuck.” she called, poking her toe into the spray of water, standing there awkwardly until she felt the water heat up.

message 47: by Em (Hannah) (new)

Em (Hannah) (hannahtester96) | 1256 comments The radiator kicked on and Liam let out a small sigh of relief, "As if I'm shy." Liam called over as he busied himself doing the same, snatching a towel before Oli could rush into the bathroom. He placed his clothes on the radiator to dry and wrapped a towel around his cold body.

Liam chuckled and shook his head at Oli, "You always rush, you gotta wait for it to heat. Also if you use all the heat I will personally throw you out this window." He called into the bathroom, the two of them ere beyond comfortable with eachother. Something about Oli, and her assertive personality called to Liam and they clicked almost instantly. Oli didn't talk much about her deeper feelings, but Liam was content with their relationship.

Bending down, Liam settled himself on the floor and unzipped his luggage, attempting to see what he could salvage.
"Well, first we need to see if there's a dryer in this ancient place." Liam called back to her, digging deep into his bag and sighing out in relief as he pulled out a pair of clothes just barely damp. He thanked whatever Gods were out there as he threw them up on the radiator to dry completely before he took his turn in the bathroom. When he said he hated the feeling of wet clothes, he wasn't exagerating.

He then pulled out his toiletries, becoming inpatient for his turn in the shower. After a few minutes, he pulling himself back up and moved over toward the sidetable where papers and phamplets spralled across the surface. A few ads for restaraunts nearby laid on top of eachother, "I bet no body delivers here." Liam muttered, shaking his head and wondering, for a moment, if he would regret his decision to come here.

Nonetheless, he pulled at the hotel's pamphlets and glanced over the amenities list. Listed first was the indoor heated pool, "Oli. Oli. Oli. Oli." Liam called out, "The pool is freaking heated. I wonder why they amp up their amenities so much." He tilted his head to the side and figured it had to be because of how dated the actual building was. No where did he see that there was a laundry room.

Liam shivered and put the pamphlets down, "Oli if you don't hurry I really am gonna join you." The worst part is Liam didn't hate the idea of it, but he knew nothing would come of it. Oli was a very flirtatious person, but he had never seen her make a move on anyone - at all.

((you are uber mega lightning quick holy wow I’m so intimidated))

Oli eased into the shower once she felt it begin to heat up; she never quite felt the warmth though— it was tepid, a light, blanket thin massage against her worn muscles ... that she was vaguely unsatisfied with. Which made sense, since this ancient, creaky was using all the heat to warm the pool she’d assumed they didn’t even have. This place was like a hundred years old! When would they have put in a pool? Did it amp up business? Were the employees bored with all the free time they had from the sparse visitors? What happened there?

“Are you kidding them?” Oli called, appalled. She switched off the shower and jumped out of the shower. She was covered head to toe in goosebumps and padded out, dripping, with a towel clasped to her body. Her knees knocked. “There’s a heated pool and I’m taking a cold shower? Ugh, note to future self: always check the pamphlets first.” She didn’t know if she would follow this rule, but, after this, there was a good possibility.

She slunk over to her wet bag. She’d managed to stuff it just right there her panties and a few stray T-shirt’s were wearable. Ironically, her swimsuit was the only thing completely dry. Life sucked sometimes. “Well,” she tugged it out, “Let’s go to the pool. We’ll find out if they have dryers on the way... and maybe some food. What time is it?— they’re probably still serving dinner.”

They said don’t swim after eating, but she was pretty sure she could survive until after she was warm and cozy... and that there were no dangerous, exotic animals in the pool water.
