Of Butterflies & Books I really love historical romance and nothing screams a historical romance more than a good pirate romance. Please point me in the direction pirate romances.

I confess to a love of pirate romances. I won't list the really bodice rippery ones unless you want. Here are some good ones that aren't too old school.

Jennifer Ashley has a fun pirate trilogy The Pirate Next Door (Regency Pirates, # 1) by Jennifer Ashley The Pirate Hunter (Regency Pirates, #2) by Jennifer Ashley The Care & Feeding of Pirates (Regency Pirates, # 3) by Jennifer Ashley

Might be hard to find but I love this Laura Renken series:

My Lord Pirate by Laura Renken Night Shadow by Laura Renken Heart of the Condor by Laura Renken

Tell Me Lies by Claudia Dain is a bit bodice rippery, but not too bad.

Good God - that isn't the cover I have! Ignore that picture, it's horrid!

Also, I can't help myself, I have to mention this awful piece of literature: Pirate by Fabio But please don't take it as a serious recommendation. :)

✿ Natalie ✿ | 428 comments The Pirate Captain by Kerry Lynne The Pirate Captain Chronicles of a Legend by Kerry Lynne ... Someone recommended it on this book group and I gave it a try and it's really good and very exciting! The author really gives a strong sense of the era (1700's) and of a realistic adventure on the highseas. It is a more gritty than romanticised view of pirates but I liked that element.

Kate | 56 comments I am always looking for a good pirate book. Thanks for the post Gabrielle,

Marsha Canham has an exciting pirate series called The Pirate Wolf Trilogy which you might enjoy.

Helen Hollick's Sea Witch is on my TBR list. I enjoyed some of her other books.

Loved Jennifer Ashley's pirate trilogy. I agree Danielle, it was a fun series.

Kansas | 5 comments haha, Sonya, I read [a part of] that book, many moons ago. Still remember the dreadful purple prose, was awful. Hilarious cover tho - I have a soft spot for the Fabiesqe Romance covers, not in a sexay way, more in a kitsch sort of way. Why I like the Smart Bitches Sexy Books blog I guess.

OMG. I didn't even know this existed. Now I really want to read it purely out of curiosity.
