This one is a little more complicated but should still be fun!
1. Choose 10 countries form around the world
2. Choose 10 authors from each of those countries
3. Read a book by each of the 10 authors, you will read a total of 10 books
4. You have 6 months to complete this challenge
5. Members may join the challenge at any time
6. This is a year long challenge
7. Those who complete this challenge will earn points that will make them eligible for prizes (TBD)

Good Luck and Happy Reading:)

Jonel I'm definitely going to have to try this one when I don't have quite so many challenges on the go. But I do have one question.... Is there a 6 month time limit or is it a year long?

Pamela Mclaren This is a very interesting challenge, but I'm already seeing that it is more challenging than I thought. I was going to start with Laura Joh Rowland, then I realized she is actually American although writing about Japan, will have to watch for that ...

Pamela Mclaren Janessa, Can I start with Tana French's In the Woods, which I finished July 30?

Should I list what books I plan to read and then add the dates when I finish or just list them as I finish them? I have started two lists and will have to see which one is more realistic ...

Yes Pamela you may start with the book you just finished and be sure to put down what country the author of the book is from, because remember that it is where the author is from not where the book takes place. And don't forget you have six months to complete the challenge

Pamela Mclaren Thanks! I don't know why but this challenge has really grabbed a hold of me!

Pamela Mclaren Janessa, I can't believe no one else is trying this challenge! In six months, you should be able to get at least six books read and there are really quite a few to choose from! And its interesting to read books and see the subtle differences in writing across countries -- Brenner and God was quite different than The Stranger House ...

Just picked up "The Reluctant Fundamentalist" by Mohsin Hamid (Pakistan) and I already have "Diary of a Young Girl" - Anne Frank (Germany) and "The Prisoner of Heaven" - Carlos Ruiz Zafon (Spain).

Pamela Mclaren Onward! I had this sitting by my bed and didn't event realize that Simenon is Belgium -- another country down!

4. Belgium — Maigret and the Pickpocket by Georges Simenon — Sept. 1, 2014

Pamela Mclaren Just finished the book for my book club at work, and have slated my next books for this challenge:

5. Pakistan — The Reluctant Fundamentalist by Mohsin Hamid - 9/14/14
6. Australia — Heavenly Pleasures by Kerry Greenwood
7. Norway — The Redbreast by Jo Nesbo
8. Spain — The Prisoner of Heaven by Carlos Ruiz Zafon
9. Canada — The Robber Bride by Margaret Atwood

Last one I have to think about. I was considering an American author but that's almost too easy. Perhaps Isabel Allende as I already have her book "Island Beneath the Sea." She was born in Chile Will think on this more ...

Pamela Mclaren So many good books to read! I didn't realize that three were so many out there once you start looking for at the authors. Just picked up two new authors from South Africa and from Israel this last weekend. So I'll be definitely reading more than 10 by the end of six months! Next up, Carlos Ruiz Zafron from Spain!

Pamela Mclaren UP to 9! This will be the month I finish it. I can't believe I spent most of today reading Carlos Ruiz Zafon's magnificent "The Prisoner of Heaven." A wonderful read. Now I find it hard to believe that I rated "The Shadow of the Wind" only three starts two years ago ...
