yoga outside?

Yeah, I'm not a fan of beach yoga either as I find it hard on my wrists with the uneven nature of the sand. A few poses here and there but not a full practice. I do like doing yoga outside when I can though it can also be really distracting if it's a busy location. Here in MN, there are a lot of opportunities in the summer to practice around the lakes. Mostly I practice outside when we're in Mexico and we have a patio. I will meditate anywhere though and I LOVE to do meditations outside.
I have yet to find my happy place doing yoga outdoors. I am so not a bug or critter person, so if anything whizzes by my head I freak out. LOL I agree, Meryl - those bumps and rocks find you, no matter how carefully you place your mat! But I love the feeling of the solid ground beneath me.

It's been really quiet in this group; I'm hoping that means everyone is so busy doing yoga and practicing its ethical teachings they don't have time to post, lol.
Here in Florida there are a lot of yoga classes on the beach. I confess I've never done yoga there, but I have done it outside in back yards and in parks. I love breathing in the air, and the gorgeous view, but I don't like the hard or uneven ground, or the rock in the wrong place when I step or lay, or the bugs that somehow find me when I lie in sivasana, so it's not something I particularly seek out.
Anybody love doing yoga outdoors more than I seem to? What do you love about it? How do you get over the less stellar parts?
Namaste!
