I'm probably going to go with Three Body Problem from Ashe's list, since it was already on my mammoth to-read list. Though, if I get too far behind on my reading, I may fall back on books on these lists I've already read. I remember reading One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn in high school and really being struck by it.
