Beth (bbulow) | 2403 comments Good morning! Here is the nomination thread for June's Book of the Month!

If you have never nominated before, please look at the full guidelines: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...!

PLEASE REVIEW THESE GUIDELINES:
-Please do not nominate a book we've already read as a group, especially not one we've done in the last 2 - 3 years. You will be asked for a different nomination if you do. Find our shelves here: https://www.goodreads.com/group/books....
-Remember that a book must be out for 6 months or more to be eligible for nominations and voting
-Try not to nominate an author that we've read that year already
-If it is a book in a series that is not the first book, make sure you know that it can be read as a standalone and doesn't require the previous books being read to understand and enjoy.
-Please note that there may be more reasons that a book is not a good fit for nominations or group members as a whole, whether it be availability, cost, accessibility, etc. The moderators reserve the right to make these decision. Thank you for your understanding! :)

Nominations as of April 15:
1. Doctor in Petticoats by Mary Connealy
2. The Things We Knew by Catherine West
3. Love Unexpected by Jody Hedlund
4. The Third Target by Joel C. Rosenberg
5. Newton and Polly: A Novel of Amazing Grace by Jody Hedlund
6. The Pelican Bride by Beth White
7. Love's Rescue by Christine Johnson
8. When Calls the Heart by Janette Oke
9. The Witness by Dee Henderson
10. Petticoat Detective by Margaret Brownley
11. Maid to Match by Deeanne Gist

Courtney, Love Unexpected is already on the nominations list, so a second nomination isn't required - just remember to vote for it once the poll is active because that is what counts. :)

Beth (bbulow) | 2403 comments Marie wrote: "Newbie here! Do we read these anytime during the month or is there a set time to start and finish?"

Glad you're here, Marie! :) There is not a set time to start or finish, however, we post them a month in advance, so that members have plenty of time to locate and read the book. The idea is that after the thread is posted for the month, the first week or so of the month is when you can post, but keep things spoiler free if possible. Then once the second half of the month comes around, full discussion is welcome with spoilers, etc.

However, you can certainly read at your leisure and post whenever you want - just be aware that after a certain point, you might see spoilers on the thread if you visit it before you've finished the book.

Let me know if that doesn't clarify things for you or if you have any other questions!

I can recommend another book-- this time historical fiction and really great. I own it and re-read it often. The Widow of Larkspur Inn by Lawanna Blackwell. Right now it is free on my Kindle app.

That is a good one for sure and one I need to finish the series! The Group Read and Buddy Read for June have already been chosen. If you want to, nominate it for July's Group Read: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/.... :)
