In Favor of Pain by Angela Yuriko Smith

Many of the poems in this chapbook will be familiar to frequent visitors of the open mic venues popular in the Northwest Florida Panhandle. The author has used the mixed medium of mic, audience and stage to explore poetry by performance. The result is a collection of darker poetry that speaks in favor of the inevitable pain that comes from living as it tends to polish off our sharp edges and reveal our better selves.
