Post only (in your opinion) a Must Read Novel...........

The one I usually recommend and have read 5 times is The Kiss of the Highlander by Karen Marie Moning

the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy, douglas adams;

Allegedly by Tiffany Jackson. It might be my favorite book this year.

Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts. It's a long one, but it has something for everyone. This book left me speechless.

I just started reading some books by Kendra Elliott. One of her books a merciful death is the beginning of a new series. It's incredible! You don't see the end coming until it's already hitting you right in the face.

I discovered her books last year and love them as well - great mystery thrillers with a side of romance!

I read recently Turn On the Light So I Can Hear by Teri Kanefield and it left me so amazed I'm still trying to grasp it. It's difficult to say which genre it is - a mix of romance, drama dealing with topics: disability, emotional abuse, love between worlds

Perfect Opposite by Zoya Tessi gere-mix: YA, drama, romance
Gut: The Inside Story of Our Body’s Most Underrated Organ by Giulia Enders non-fiction - health (extremly fun and easy to understand)
And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie classic-mystery
A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett kids, classic
My Sister's Grave by Robert Dugoni mystery-thriller
Behold the Beauty: An Invitation to Bible Reading by Monica Sharman Christian devotional & bible-reading (how to have much more fun reading your bible)
As Soon as I Fell: A Memoir by Kay Bruner Christian non-fiction - missionary-biography (topics: missionary life, depression, pornography)
Pieces on Earth by Cathy Bryant Christmas (Christian)
In His Steps by Charles M. Sheldon classic Christian fiction (WWJD)

My favorite Must Read Novel would be War and Peach by Susan Furlong. It's part of the Georgia Peach series. I'd recommend reading the whole series.

My favorite and a must-read in terms of a perfectly plotted novel (scale, pacing, structure of the plot) and characterization, especially considering the time it was written.....

My choice for a Must Read book is Small Gods by Terry Pratchett. Thought provoking, funny and a profound message.

I'm in an international book club and we just read The Luminaries for our New Zealand read. WOW! A great book for authors because our group agreed that we tolerated a lot more plot confusion than we would have in any other novel because the set up, dialogue, writing, and characters were so satisfying.
BTW we are always looking for suggestions of novels with English translations from tiny / obscure countries written by native authors.

The Stand by Stephen King
excellent dystopian novel

I just recently read Wonder by R.J. Palacio and to me that is a must read book. I know it has been out for years but I just recently got wind of it and I loved it so much.

One sugestion would be "RecipeArium" by Costi Gurgu, published by White Cat Publications in 2017 (US). It was previously published in Romania in 1996 and it won 3 awards there. Hope you'll select it for your group and like it.

I also liked The Luminaries and works in translation. Have you read HHhH by Laurent Binet? If not, check out my review. There is a new Binet which I have not got yet: The Seventh Function of Language ISBN- 9781910701584

Hmm, outside the obvious, I would go with "Od Magic," by Patricia McKillip.

The Heart is a Lonely Hunter by Carson McCullers is masterful. Hmmm, I think I'll just go read it again.

I just finished Judah's Wife: A Novel of the Maccabees and it was one of the best books I have read lately. Another one is Song of a Captive Bird.

Anything by Miriam Toews, an ex-Mennonite woman whose sister and father were bipolar and both committed suicide in the same way. Strangely, the author uses humor as well as love and sorrow in describing her stories.

I've just finished this one and it is perfect if you want a good quick mystery

Sylvie Asleton and the Shrike's Curse Invested me in the main character quickly, truly deserves a read.

Honor by Elif Shafek and A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens.

I agree on Stoner, bleak as it was.

I don't know how I can pick just one, but here are three truly superb novels, including one that is currently coming out as a film:

1) Every Man Dies Alone, by Hans Fallada. In Nazi Germany, an ordinary couple decides to mount a series of small acts of rebellion after their son dies in the war, with tragic consequences.

2) The North Water, by Ian McGuire. A whaling expedition tale that includes one of the most evil serial killers in all of fiction.

3) The Sisters Brothers, by Patrick DeWitt. This is the movie novel. Hired killers Eli and Charlie Sisters go on an amoral journey in search of a man who has apparently bilked their corrupt boss. It is heart-rending, funny and cold-blooded all at the same time.

I can't pick just one addition of my own. Here goes:

1. Jane Eyre for the classics.

2. Lois Lowry Giver Series: The Giver, Messenger, Gathering Blue

3. A Tree Grows in Brooklyn

4. For the naughty romance readers, it doesn't get any better than The Stark Trilogy 3-Book Bundle and everything associated with it. As a romance writer, J. Kenner truly inspired me with Damien Stark. While he has the same resume as most other rich alphas, he's completely different once you really get to know him. I do admit, though, that I'm a little biased. He is in love with a woman named Nikki, after all. LOL I'm actually reading it for the third time, and it never gets old...

I really like the Caineville series by Kelley Armstrong and the court of thorns and roses by Sarah j Maas. And of course the book Encompassing Darkness

I think this book isn’t getting nearly enough praise and hype and it is easily one of my fav reads of this year( and with 8 months still to go that says something😀)
It is The Seven Deaths Of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton. It is Brilliant.
