Harry Potter Fans discussion

What books do you like that are like the Harry Potter series? And how are they like it? (so that people can judge whether it has the things that interested them in Harry Potter.)

In my opinion (so far), there is no book/series that comes as the Harry Potter series, no offense.

Though, I read Inkheart which is the first book of the Inkworld series...

Lloyd Alexander's Chronicles of Prydain (
starting with The Book of Three) also tracing the growing up of a young boy -- and grow up with him -- though in a high fantasy setting.

The Unwanteds has a magical aspect to it. They get to create their own spells. The series is really good.
