Amanda (amandaquotidianbooks) | 2 comments I never read the classics and modern classics I was assigned in high school until Jane Eyre and Hamlet in my senior year. I read both for class and really enjoyed them (though I skipped the part about the Rivers the first time I read JE). Those two have since become all time favorites of mine. Only recently have I incorporated classics into my ordinary reading and have really grown to treat them as any other sort of book I have on my shelves (as opposed to assuming they will be either difficult reads or have no faults due to the classics label).

I read almost every genre, though I don't read much YA, non-fiction or mystery/crime. My favorite book of all time (at the moment) is East of Eden, which I read last summer.

I'm notoriously bad at participating in groups here on Goodreads, so you might not hear very much from me, though the purpose of this group intrigued me so much I had to join! I'm working on getting my physical TBR count down to 0 as soon as I can, 111 books and counting... so I'm not sure if I'll participate in the group reading much, but I would were my circumstances different :)
