SciFi and Fantasy eBook Club discussion

I found this comment on another book club site and thought I would pass it on to members here who might find this book an interesting read:
Larry Niven's Ringworld novel (1970) impressed how contemporary it feels, the author nailed a lot of the future we have now back then. Included in that future was his own version of an e-reader.

No matter how much I read, I always come across another author or book, I haven't become aware of.

I first read Ringworld it probably 40 years ago, when I was still in my teens. Over the next five or ten years i read everything I could find by Niven, and it's great to see him being rediscovered. The thing I liked was the way he extrapolated from simple ideas in directions that weren't initially obvious.

I wasn't as fond of later Ringworld books, I think he wrote himself into a corner in Known Space, but the first one is great.
