Hi everyone. Our goal is to read up to Page 29 by Wednesday (4/12/2017). You can leave all of your insights and thoughts below after you read or as you are reading. We can also video chat or convene in person if anyone is up for that!

Anya I won't be able to meet in person or video chat this week but after this week I will be able to! I just finished reading to p 29 and I find the "novel in verse" idea (and the plot itself so far) really compelling. I admit I was a bit confused as to what the information before the start of the novel means but maybe it'll be cleared up as we get farther into the novel. Do you guys think the bit about no one liking Geryon in school stems from his brother's rejection or a different reason?

I thought the bit about Geryon not being liked in school was an emotionally manipulative tactic by his brother. In regards to the information before, I think it is setting up the character dynamic. For instance, it was mentioned that Herakles destroyed Geryon in the story of ancient Greece and the fact that the main characters share this name sets up the vibe that modern Herakles with be responsible for modern Geryon's demise/downfall.
