Read anything good lately that we're not and you want to share? Let us know. We're always looking for an excuse to add to our never-ending to-read list.

Recently finished Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman. I loved it. It's a fun, quick read that serves as good context for American Gods. Before that I also read Lovecraft Country, which was excellent.
I'm reading Eon, a nice end-of-the-world and giant asteroid/alternate universes colliding hard sci fi. Also reading The Emotional Life of Your Brain, about emotional styles and neuroplasticity.
I just finished Leviathan Wakes by James S.A. Corey. Really great space opera, but written in a more down-to-earth, relatable style than most hard sci-fi. It's probably my second favorite space opera story after Star Wars; I'm excited to see where it goes in the next 6 books.
I just finished Dawn, which I know was a book club selection before I started attending. I'd love to discuss it if anyone is up for it, cause... whoa.

Feel free to make a separate thread for it if you want.
Audrey wrote: "Has anyone read Garth Nix? The Abhorsen Trilogy?"LOVE THIS SERIES. "Sabriel" is probably one of my all-time favorite books, and Tim Curry reads the audiobook, if you can find it.
For the X-Files fans out there, I just picked up the new audiobook, X-Files: Cold Cases. It takes place just before the start of the miniseries they made last year and has full voice cast from David Duchovney, Gillian Anderson, and a bunch of other original cast members from the show. The story is interesting so far and it's really great to hear all the old characters play their parts again. It's getting me even more excited for the new season they're making.https://www.audible.com/pd/Sci-Fi-Fan...
Aight, somebody talk to me about Shirley Jackson. I just finished We Have Always Lived in the Castle and The Haunting of Hill House
Lindsay wrote: "Aight, somebody talk to me about Shirley Jackson. I just finished We Have Always Lived in the Castle and The Haunting of Hill House"I wish I could. I've been hearing good things about Haunting of Hill House but haven't checked it out myself yet.
Probably not a spoiler, but the book bears no resemblance to the Netflix series. Both are interesting but different. I liked Castle more :)
To be honest I didn't even know it was based on a book lol. I do want to check it out. I just got back online tonight after moving though so maybe I'll dig into it this weekend while unpacking.
Recently finished " The Four Books by Lan Lianke". Really liked it, and the new myth of Sisyphus at the end catches you off-guard.
Milad wrote: "Recently finished " The Four Books by Lan Lianke". Really liked it, and the new myth of Sisyphus at the end catches you off-guard."Sounds like this might be a good companion to former SQBC pick The Three-Body Problem - though I wasn't present for that discussion.

Science fiction set during the Cultural Revolution, can't fathom how those two could possibly mix. Was this a book the BC read?

Yeah, Three-Body Problem was our April 2016 pick. It's actually the one that got me to join, since I'd wanted to read it for a while. It's a fascinating book. I thought it was weird at first, esp since I wasn't familiar with Chinese history, but the excellent translation and footnotes made things easier. I loved the book.
I haven't heard of The Four Books, but it sounds interesting, especially if the translation is as good as TTBP's.
