YA Read-Alongs discussion

I absolutely loved this book!

Chapter 1 and Chapter 23 had me rolling. Starr, Seven, DeVonte and Chris's conversation in the car about race was so hilarious.

It is hard to pin point one character that was my favorite. But I love how supportive Chris was. DeVonte was funny. And by the end of the book the only character that I just couldn't stand was King. He was always messing things up. I would have enjoyed if King would have been penalized for his actions more through out the story but I guess the lack of punishment through out the story made the ending more acceptable.

Through out the book there were sad and tragic moment but there were large gaps in between those moments. When things were going good for the characters I was constantly on the edge of my seat thinking that something was going to go wrong. I was so happy for the family when they finally had the chance to move. I was so scared that everyone wasn't going to make it to the new neighborhood.
