I'd like to nominate The Crystal Cave by Mary Stewart for before 1990, and Heart's Blood by Juliet Marillier for after 1995.
I'm going to suggest Imaro for my pre-1990 and Lion of Senet for my post-1995. I haven't read either of them, so I can't say anything about their quality, but I've been planning to read both.
OK, for pre-1990 I'll again nominate God Stalk by P.C. Hodgell -- most easily available as the first half of The God Stalker Chronicles. For post-1995, hmmm, how about Karavans by Jennifer Roberson? Been sitting on my shelf for a while ...
I'm just going to nominate for a pre-1990 book, The Darkling Hills by Lori Martin:
I loved this book so much when I first read it 25+ years ago, but the sequel only came out in Germany (in German). I recently found out the author re-released this book last year and will be re-releasing the sequel sometime soon.
The Bell at Sealey Head by Patricia A. McKillip for post. The Charwoman's Shadow by Lord Dunsany for pre
I would like to nominate Prince of Fools
By Mark Lawrence 2014 and for the older nomination let's read
The Hero and the Crown by Robin McKinley 1987.
Hi,I am new to the group, I would like to nominate two books, the first one is The Unlikely Ones by Mary Brown (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...) for the pre-1990 book and for the post 1990 book, The Bone Doll's Twin by Lynn Flewelling (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6...). Sorry if the links are not posted right, I am using the IPad app and having some difficulty figuring it out.
My first nominee is Night Watch, published for the first time in 1998. And for the "old" one I'll second The Charwoman's Shadow - it seems to be really interesting.
I'll nominate The Princess Bride for the older book [I've never had the chance to read it!] and I'll second Karavans.

Oops! You're right. I'll second Mythago Wood rather than nominating that one then.

No big deal, I find myself having to double check it as our reading list grows!
Hi I was going to suggest about checking our bookshelf so thanks.I will go through your lists tomorrow and once 8 books of each have been seconded I will close the thread. Dont be upset if you dont make it this month. Looking forward to your choices.
:)
Great noms, Joseph.I second God Stalk and Karavans.
:D
Edit....Whoops, I see Karavans already has a second.
I'll second Prince of Fools, and I might not get around to it, but for pre-1990 I'll nominate Mort by Terry Pratchett.
I would like to nominate ImagiNation Unveiled: The Hidden Realm by Judy Probus for post 1995.I would like to nominate Guardians of the West by David Eddings for pre 1990.

We read Kushiels's Dart, April of 2013.
As for The Neverending Story, it might be a little too young adult.
:(
Right last chance to get your seconds in before I close the thread. Thanks and yes please no young books.
Kerry wrote: "I'd like to nominate The Crystal Cave by Mary Stewart for before 1990, and Heart's Blood by Juliet Marillier for after 1995."i second on both of these as i want to read them both

Both good books when I read them years ago
Ok we have 8 books seconded for before 1990. Last chance to second 2 more post 95 before I close.we will not be reading the neverending story as it is too young for this group. Nor will any books previously read or being scifi or ya make it to the list.
I would appreciate it if when nominating you could all keep it simple with a nomination or second. Please link the book and add an author. Also check that it is readily available in different formats and try to keep chat to a minimum. This will help me loads when trawling through your lists. Just as an example you nominated 20 odd books this time.
Thankyou for your assistance it is much appreciated.
Remember 2 more seconds needed for the books published after 1995 only. No more nominations please or seconds for the pre 1990s books.

Okay. I'll put up a post-95: A Secret Atlas by Michael A. Stackpole. And I will second Guardians of the West.

this is the thread for the next round of nominations. This month you may nominate for 2 books. One must have been published prior to 1990 and one after 1995. All books must be accessible in different formats and countries.
Please keep your nominations together on one post. You may second one of each. Please link your nominations. No young adult or scifi please. No bickering and as I will be checking and trawling through them all, I will get final say on any issues. No I will not be nominating or voting.
This double trouble system means that I will be closing in 3 days or so. I will accept the first 8 books in both categories that have been properly nominated and seconded.
let us have some exciting reads. Thanks as always
