Nele's been on my list but haven't heard of the other 2. Added Hendrik Falkenberg but it looks like Inge's series is not yet available in English.

No, unfortunately i cannot read ebooks, they give me headaches so i always read an actual paper copy.
Due out next year from Orenda Books is this German crime thriller from Simone Buchholz. Will be titled "Blue Night". I think it's part of a series but judging from her website it might be book #2.

Blurb I saw describes it as a "German crime thriller featuring a feisty straight talking protagonist".

She has so many books but i find only two coming in English. http://www.suhrkamp.de/buecher/beton_...

Not really. Many writers in every country in the world never hit. I hear friends talking of many USA and Canadian writers I never hear of in Europe. Many Scandinavian writers write for a decade before they get translated. Right now they are a hot property, perhaps it will shift soon but doubt it seeing the books and series coming out all the time.
France has some amazing books. And series and films.
Etc etc.
German television is full of great thriller and crime series. Films. They also film every book by certain British writers. And a good example is they have filmed every Donna Leon Brunetti book. And very very well. They also filmed a lot by Mankell and various Scandinavian writers that we enjoy with sub titles.
See the filming of my favourite German book is just hitting the theaters now...Alone in Berlin. Just read an interview with Emma Thompson about the filming of it.

Volker Kutscher's Gereon Rath series set in early 30s Berlin has two books translated so far (from the beginning!), and I think a TV series out later this year.
Babylon Berlin
And the first of Elisabeth Herrmann's Judith Kepler series (crime scene cleaner with GDR background) is available.
The Cleaner

I could not agree more. There are so many great German speaking authors from Germany, Austria and Switzerland who are hugely popular not only in those countries but most of Europe. Why they are not translated or only some of their books is a mystery to me.
some of those which I have read recently are Nicole Neubauer, Andreas Gruber, Klaus-Peter Wolf, Nina Ohlandt, the duo Michael Kobr & Volker Klupfer.
One author which I have read recently is the Dresden series, which spans the time from 1943 - late 50s is by Frank Goldammer. I don't tend to like historical crime novel, but here it really works, the description of the Dresdner bombing through to Soviet occupation, creation of the DDR are brilliant and the crime stories are also really well planned and delivered. Sadly only two of the series are translated!
I've just read a German mystery/thriller that's been translated into both the English and the Norwegian. The English title is Dear Child and it's written by Romy Hausmann. The reviews here in Norway were outstanding, and I also liked it well.
