Yes, the humor is laid on too thick, and is mostly not very funny and Richard Pryor ( who really tries) is miscast, but the rest is great and has a great silver age vibe to it that I really like.A stumble, but still better than any of the modern Superman movies.
Okay, this is a cheesy movie, but I can't help but like it some. It's not a GOOD movie, but I still don't hate it like many fans. It's completely watchable for me. A guilty pleasure.

She's a decent actress, the writers just never knew what to do with Ma Kent on Smallville, so they sent her to Washington.
Same deal with Lana. The writing for her was all over the place.

Ugh I know, they had a strange obsession with Lana. It seemed pretty much every male character in the show eventually had a thing for her. And it was too unrealistic that she was that good at everything she tried, especially when she was suddenly up to Chloe's level of computer hacking and brain stuff, the martial arts she suddenly picked up to be super street fighter level, I could go on but...
What I didn't like about Anette's acting was when she acted shocked or dramatic, to me she overdid it. The characters were supposed to be a little goody-goody though, so maybe that had something to do with it.
The worst acting I've seen on there I think was when Wonder Woman Lynda Carter made a guest appearance as Chloe's mother. That entire episode was awful. Even Chloe acted badly, and she's usually top-notch.
