Recommendation Swap - May Sign ups

The link for more info doesn't seem to work, but I'm guessing this is where you get paired up with someone and recommend a book from your shelf to them and vice-versa? I'm in for that. :-)
Do the recommendations come from the TBR of the readers or do we just recommend based of the others reading history? I read the - how it works, but I don't think it clarifies the point. I'm not sure I can do this, I have been very busy of late. I won't sign up unless I am sure I can follow through on reading the recommendation, but this has always sounded interesting and now that interest is bubbling to the surface.

You need 30 comments to sign up - you still have time, if you would like to take part?

You also need 30 comments before you can sign up - please check the rules - you still have time though, or there is always the next one, in August?

Hi Paul, yes, that's how it works, although you don't need to limit yourself to their shelf, you could pick something entirely new. Sorry about the link, I have changed it now :-)

You can pick whichever book you like for them - or you can choose from their shelves (eg "to read") but it's entirely up to you. Some people like to pick more than one, to give a choice, but again - up to you. Have fun!

It honestly depends, to get an idea I would go through my partner's to be read pile and try to find something they might have listed as I really enjoyed. If that fails I go through their ratings to see what they did enjoy and would normally think "Oh you enjoyed this book, I think you would like this book as it's quite similar in style, theme or writing, etc."

Sign ups will be open until the 29th April and I will post the list of partners the following day. Recommendations should then be sent out within the next couple of days. The swap runs for 2 months so there is plenty of time to find and read your book.
Please comment with your name here if you would like to join in. Remember that we ask people to have 30 or more comments in the group in order to participate.
Please remember to "report back" in the "What did you think?" thread, so we can all see what you read and if you liked it.
Any questions, please check the link: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... or ask in this thread.
