Amber and Brock assault the caravan carrying Lana. Should the agents have been more vigilant? Did you understand how they got the upper hand?

Yes, they should have been more concerned about Lana's welfare. Someone killed her parents and they should have known that Lana was the only connection. I call plot devise on them getting the upper hand.

Yeah, that was a little silly. How they got the upper hand just didn't ring true. But I overlooked it for benefit of the plot.

I thought this a really weak part of the plot. Maybe if the author had gone into more details about how they overpowered the agents it would have helped. But, as presented, it didn't seem plausible to me either.
