I enjoyed this book, Themes of family loyalty, friendship, wonder of nature, especially beetles. Slightly Dahl-esque in terms of imagination and description. Would be good read-aloud for year 7/8. Light humour.

I enjoyed it a lot as well and it's a real page-turner. Loved the beetles and cast of quirky characters. Looking forward to the second book in the series which has just come out.
Loved it myself and found it a good book for a Year 4 boy with high reading ability.
