I loved this book, so much better than book 1 of the series, this book was a page turner for me.Lots of great things about this book I enjoyed, the characters, Roland's world, how the characters (from the other world) are all connected in some way, but what I loved most was the way that SK created the door between the two worlds and how Roland could enter and exit that world. Every time that door was opened and something was happening, that's when I was at my maximum regarding "can't put this book down".
I love books featuring other worlds, and I especially love moving from one world to another; the imagination of great writers always seem to impress me so much in scenes like these.
Great series read, can't wait to get into the next one.
Finished last night, stayed up late. I couldn't believe we were going to get stuck with another awful character as our third, then everything changed! Good twist. Was gobsmacked when Roland lost his fingers, I actually reread it as I couldn't believe that would happen to a gunslinger. Roll on book three.

I really feel like we learned a lot more about how Roland thinks here, even if we didn't see anything about his past, I'm not really fussed about it!
I am wishing I paid more attention to the Tarot draw in Bk 1 now....
