Onur Çağın Gürlek | 2 comments Hi everyone. I've been in this group and r/books for quite sometime and just said "Hey why not introduce myself!"
So I live in Turkey and I love to read from all over the world, Japan, Latin America, Africa, Scandinavia... I really hate it when people act like there's no classics or good books outside of Europe and USA. I also hate it when people, mostly teachers, act like only Turkish, European and American authors exist.
I currently read a Turkish classic from 1914 called "Bir Serencam"(A Consoquence) by Yakup Kadri
My favorite writer is Haruki Murakami.
I don't know if I have a favorite genre but I love it when there's something more that I can't grasp right away in a book and it feels both surreal and real. So usually I try to read magic realism and unusual movements in the literature world.
I also love clever word games and unusual and original sci-fi books.
(And I don't want to seem snobby, I read a lot of books from "bad genres" too but I read them just to pass time and have fun)
