I really liked about 2/3 of this book - the other 1/3 was just okay; these thirds were not all necessarily in a row. The parts that lost me were some of the Hig's reflections on the meaning of life, etc. (seemed forced - like "here is where I reflect on life") and the part where he was pushing his libido on the reader. At first I thought it was kind of interesting because the post apocalypic stories usually focus on the need for food, water, shelter, re-establising order, but rarely on raw phiscial need. But, after the first 15 pages or so of this, it didn't really seem to be advancing the plot any.
The action sequences, descriptions of the plague, stories about how they got to where they are, etc. were all really interesting.
The Dog: (view spoiler)
