Can anybody who's published a book with CreateSpace tell me which style of print and font they used, and if they were happy with the result?
I used Times Roman 12 for an eBook, but the only way I can get 120,000 words down to a reasonable number of pages is to reduce to 10. If I go for a larger book that solves the problem too, but it makes it very expensive for readers to buy.
Thanks for any tips.
Sarah
Hi, Sarah:
Did you get your questions answered?
Anything below a size 10 font (Times New Roman) would be very hard to read in print. You have some flexibility with ebooks, since most ebook readers will allow people to adjust the font size and type at their leisure.
You can try playing with the leading (the space between lines), and you can also adjust the margins to an extent. Also, adjusting the space between letters (called kerning) can shave a few pages off your book size, but I wouldn't make the letters too tight, either.
A manuscript of that size is going to yield a high page count, no matter what, which will affect the overall cost to print.
