Well, they did such a great job telling the story the first time...probably won't be aliens in this one either.
People have to learn you don't rush to the big story, you have to build to it.Ten minutes of Jean being angsty and a cameo by the phonenix effect is not enough set up.
I enjoyed Apocalypse, but the X-movies hurry.DC has the same problem.
Having the very first Batman/Superman movie be the 'Dark Knight returns' fight was stupid and missed the point of Miller's story.
For whatever faults marvel may have, they are willing to play the long game and build things up so you get not just a cool visual, but some emotion behind it.
So, I read somewhere that Dark Phoenix jumps ahead to the 90's...?While I kind of enjoy the period piece feel of the X-men movies, that's a twenty year jump.
Might have been better to do the 80's when the comic story was set.
Any reason for the jump? I thought that Apocalypse was 80s (Return of the Jedi released in 83)Still don’t think one movie will be enough to tell the story.
