Melissa | 7 comments I do most of my reading on the patio, but will read where ever I can. I stopped reading in the bed because I wasn't getting much sleep...my books make me stay up way past my bed time.....LOL.

Mark Edwards (markopolo303) | 1 comments On my comfy chair or in bed. But definitely the comfy chair

message 4: by Robert (new)

Robert | 3 comments My slightly overstuffed chair with ottoman, in the living room, between the fireplace and the windows which open to the rose bushes and bird feeders. Nice breeze and sounds in the Summer and cozy in the Winter with a throw blanket.
Or in an airplane. Talk about two extremes, but it really does seen to be one or the other!

Ryan Blanck (ryanblanck) | 6 comments I like to read my book at outside with a couch sometimes. During my 1 hour lunch at Central Office, I can read my books too. It's Comfortable with many things to read my book.

Cool spot, Mk.

Jo Ann Reinhold (jwreinhold) | 3 comments On my couch. This might sound crazy to you but I turn the TV on really low for background noise but because I'm reading I don't even notice whats on.

Sue Coletta (suecoletta) | 12 comments Jo Ann wrote: "On my couch. This might sound crazy to you but I turn the TV on really low for background noise but because I'm reading I don't even notice whats on." Same here. I zone right out. The walls could fall in around me and I probably wouldn't notice. At least that's what my husband tells me. :)

Yep Sue, that's me....but for some reason when you live alone you just need that "white noise" so that's what the TV is for :-)

Gotcha. That's understandable.

message 12: by Debbie (new)

Debbie I love to read anywhere and everywhere! I always have a book within reach. My favorite place to read is poolside or at the beach, or on my terrace with a big glass of wine. My greatest relaxation is reading. My Mom always says that all she needs to be happy is a beach and book, and I agree! (And if the beach is not available, just a book is perfectly fine!)

On the terrace sounds nice. I'll have to try that. Skipping the wine, though. I don't drink. :)

Heide Katros | 35 comments I am glad to know there are other addicts like me. But I like to read in bed. Love that Kindle with the backlighting so don't disturb hubby :-)

message 15: by Molly (new)

Molly I love to read on my bed or in the kitchen after I eat.

message 16: by Heide (new)

Heide Katros | 35 comments Actually, I started to read in bed, so my dog could lie close. I even do the crossword that way.

message 17: by Mourning_elf (new)

Mourning_elf | 1 comments yepz anywhere. i can read anywhere while listening music :)

message 18: by Debbie (new)

Debbie Wine is totally optional! Really, all I need is the book. (And I agree with those who are fans of reading in bed. It's the most perfect form of luxury and relaxation!)

message 19: by Heide (new)

Heide Katros | 35 comments Debbie, I'm no big drinker, but it's no issue. Everyone should have something that really gives them that totally relaxed time in a day. As I said, I like to stretch out on bed to read, and Mourning_elf likes to hear music in the background. Great. I only like to listen mostly to music in my car lol Diversity is the spice of life. Cheers, Prosit, Skoal have a great weekend.

message 20: by Janet (new)

Janet | 3 comments I tend to read at home but i also read in the cafe i go to and on a bus, in the library.

message 21: by Heide (new)

Heide Katros | 35 comments Jnaet you certainly don't live in Florida lol At least not where I am. There are no cafes to go to. But I always carry my Kindle when I go places where you might have to wait

message 22: by Linda (new)

Linda Strong (linstrong) I usually always take my kindle with me when I have a doctor's appointment... makes the wait much more bearable. I always took it to work with me (before I retired) to read at lunch time. Now that I'm home all the time, I mainly read paper books.

message 23: by Faye (new)

Faye Ridpath (ispgypsy) | 9 comments Heide,

There's all kinds of cafes here in Tampa.

~~~Faye~~~
message 24: by Jo Ann (new)
Jo Ann Reinhold (jwreinhold) | 3 comments Heide, Pinellas county is full of cafe's to sit and people watch and read! No if you want to live in the world without Wifi Cafe's try Windsor/Windsor Locks CT!
message 25: by Heide (new)
Heide Katros | 35 comments Good to know, but I don't live in Tampa. I live in Winter Haven. Even if we had one, I am too busy to do that lol Not saying you aren't busy, too, but maybe I should say I have other priorities. Am an avid tennis player and grab what time I can to write my 28th novel. Used to think there was nothing better than a paperback, but we have no real bookstore here and Kindle is so much easier at night. You can read in the dark:-)
message 26: by Debbie (new)
Debbie Linda, I agree with you. Waiting in a medical office is so much more enjoyable (and far less tedious) when I bring my Kindle with me. I love actual books so much that I thought I would never like a Kindle, but I've learned that actual books and Kindles can co-exist quite nicely!
message 27: by Sara (new)
Sara (sarabelle513) | 1 comments Naturally the beach...:-), in bed, on the go......anywhere I can grab a minute for myself!
message 28: by Heide (new)
Heide Katros | 35 comments I agree, Debbie. Kindle and real books can co-exist. There are some books you would rather have in paperback, but let's face it. Holding a Kindle or Nook is easier on the hands, and I can read without disturbing my hubby during the night, though I doubt a firecracker would wake him. lol
message 29: by Faye (new)
Faye Ridpath (ispgypsy) | 9 comments The thing I like about a Kindle is if you are going on a long trip, it's much easier to have several downloaded books as opposed to physical books.
message 31: by Heide (new)
Heide Katros | 35 comments Yes, Faye, you are so right!Don't know if you like romantic suspense, but I am currently reading a Christy Reece book Running On Empty. Never heard of her before, but Nora Roberts move aside:-)Sandra Brown take note and a lot of other good authors, too:-)Also can recommend Nancy Herkness, a personal friend of mine. Her latest Down Home Country Christmas is only 99 cents. You'll love it
message 32: by Faye (new)
Faye Ridpath (ispgypsy) | 9 comments I do like romantic suspense. I will have to check those out.
message 33: by Heide (new)
Heide Katros | 35 comments Faye, I am sure you'll like Christy Reece's book, I never knew she existed:-) It starts so different than any I've read in the past. And I think it was only $2.99 or $3.99 at most. I also write romantic suspense. Just go to Amazon or B & N and look for Heide Katros. The E on the end of my name is correct and the name means Heather
SUSAN   *Nevertheless,she persisted* (susan-workstosupportbookhabit) One of my favorite spots is in our herb garden,in the rain,under a patio umbrella.
It really is.There is a small pond and an occasionally a box turtle wanders by. I long for a window seat to curl up on and read while it rains/snows,that would be heaven.
message 37: by Heide (new)
Heide Katros | 35 comments I can feel with you, Susan. I have a bird feeder on our patio and I love to watch the birds and squirrels. I have a couple of squirrels who come running when I ask them if they want a peanut:-) I also have a couple of zebra butterflies who like to flit around me when I put seeds out in back. BTW almost done with another novel. Hope to have Shattered Vows on the market by the end of this month.
Good luck with your novel Heidi,what an accomplishment. Your patio sounds wonderful.
Heide Katros | 35 comments Thank you, Susan. I always laugh when people call me Heidi. I am HEIDE, and I am sure that costs me fans. But my name means Heather in German. My full first name is Heidemarie, no hyphen, not two words and English is my second language. Find me under www.heidekatros.com on Amazon and B & N. Best
