Hoem is one of my (current living) favourite Norwegians authors, and this series are historical fiction from the late 1800's. Its tells the story of the hard way of living in Norway back then, and the ones that tried to find fortune by emmigrating to the US.
Kiellend was one of the so called "big four" in Norway, and a popular realistic writer of the 19th century. This book is the last of a trilogy, and is a criticism of religion.

I'm interested to read some Icelandic classics soon, Norwegians may follow! (Tarjei Vesaas is one of my favorite authors.) I might go with Kiellend depending on how you'll review it!

Just finished my first book in this challenge which was Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There on audio, it was a good re-read, and I enjoyed it.
