Emerson | 282 comments Always great to see titles no one has brought to the table before! I checked Kielland and Hoem sadly the books descriptions were empty...

Kathleen | 5487 comments Welcome, Hilde! You've got a nice list here, and have reminded me that I've never read Through the Looking-Glass, and I should read both books sometime soon. Enjoy these!

Hilde (hilded) | 56 comments Oh no, that's a bummer. I guess it must be that none of these are translated from Norwegian.

Hoem is one of my (current living) favourite Norwegians authors, and this series are historical fiction from the late 1800's. Its tells the story of the hard way of living in Norway back then, and the ones that tried to find fortune by emmigrating to the US.

Kiellend was one of the so called "big four" in Norway, and a popular realistic writer of the 19th century. This book is the last of a trilogy, and is a criticism of religion.

Emerson | 282 comments Thank you Hilde,

I'm interested to read some Icelandic classics soon, Norwegians may follow! (Tarjei Vesaas is one of my favorite authors.) I might go with Kiellend depending on how you'll review it!

Hilde (hilded) | 56 comments Thanks Pink and Loretta :)
Just finished my first book in this challenge which was Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There on audio, it was a good re-read, and I enjoyed it.

Pink | 5491 comments Congrats on finishing your first book for the challenge. I've only read the first Alice in Wonderland book, but I did watch the recent Through The Looking Glass film, which I preferred to the first film, so perhaps I should read the book one day.

Hilde (hilded) | 56 comments Very slow to update this, but I didn't quite manage to finish this one. One left for both old and new. But I liked the books I read, so that's something :) Off to set up the 2018 plan!
