Finished reading 'Murder Solstice' review on my goodreads page (I think, I'm still getting used to how the site works.) An enjoyable read and I'll be looking for others in the series. Next up is Shadow of the Castle
Finished reading Shadow of the Castle but still trying to work out how I feel about it. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed it but there's just something that didn't feel right about it. I just can't work out what that was yet.Moving back onto more familiar ground next with Offshore

I've already read all bar the latest Shetland novel and have enjoyed the Vera tv series although i haven't read them yet so I'm sure I'll enjoy this one too.

I've tried to get a handle on what didn't feel right about and I think it may be that it wants to be part of a series but isn't.
Have now finished and reviewed
.As predicted I really enjoyed it, the only thing I can really say against it is that being a collection of short stories I was just starting to really get invested in each story/character when it finished.
I could happily have just kept on reading.
Moving into very different territory with my next read, Yellow Peril: The SNP Bad Campaign
It won't be to many peoples taste but from what I've read so far, it should be very interesting.

I've just added this to my Kindle for reading when I finish my current book. I like the Shetland series, and watch the Vera series on tv, so I'm hoping this stands up.
Finished Yellow Peril: The SNP Bad Campaign
which was an interesting read but one you will either love or hate depedning on which side of the debate you are on. Not going to say much about it as a result although it did raise a few interesting points.
Followed it up swiftly with
The Quasimodo Trunk: An Oz Blackstone Story - 3the latest Oz Blackstone short story by Quintin Jardine which I'm including because although the story is set in Canada and Spain, one of the main characters and of course the author are definitely Scottish. Being a short story it only took about an hour to devour and now I'm impatiently awaiting the next one. Review on my goodreads page.
I'm now starting Exciting Lives
the third book in the Death on the Clyde series.

Have finished and written a short review of
The 3rd in a series and after a short break I will be moving on to the 4th installment. First though I've just started In Line for Murder
a period detective short story/ novella set in Victorian Edinburgh.
Have now finished a run of short stories starting with In Line for Murder quite a fun short detective story with a twist. Then read Too Good To Be True a Shetland series short by Ann Cleeves, review here https://www.goodreads.com/review/show.... Next was the Ian Rankin short The Travelling Companion which was too strange for my taste as mentioned in my review https://www.goodreads.com/review/show....
After these short stories I returned to a full length novel with the first first book in a legal/crime series Relatively Guilty
This was the first time I'd read anything by this author and I enjoyed it so much that I moved straight onto the 2nd in the series Duty Man without really stopping to do a review. I will come back to it though.

Just about to start this as my first book for the challenge. Haven't come across the author before so it will be a new experience all round.
