First book War Horse finished total pages 60 as I had started it before the read-a-thon I gave it a 4* rating

That's awesome! There are so many read-a-thons in May! I'm doing the A to Z Readathon this month too!
I haven't read any Finnish novels in 2017 so I started Tapetinvärinen. The author annoys me, because I loved Suden vuosi from her but all her other books are really boring. But I'm trying to read at least 100 pages today, even though it's not the most exciting book ever...
I had no idea what to read yesterday... so I read the first chapters of 4 books. Two I loved and will keep reading. The other is OK, but I wasn't super excited about it. The fourth one is a hard 'no'. It's out of my kindle already! Thank heavens I hadn't bought it (I had just downloaded the first 10% as a preview).
I hope everyone is reading great books this week!

It's so bad when you start reading and give up after some pages. It has also happened with me trying to read a book from a friend who's a self-published author and just giving up after seeing the book wasn't for me. Or soldiering on until the end of the book just to see that it was indeed a bad book, or looking for answers to the story questions and finding none... Nice! Everyone is reading such interesting things!!! Keep up your momentum and share your favorite tip for getting more reading in during a read-a-thon!Mine are:
1) If you are in a slump, pick up something you will be able to read in one sitting like a middle-grade novel, a graphic novel, manga, or short story. Anything to get your story brain working and hungry again! I love to pick up a fave book and even reread my favorite scenes or chapters. This instantly gets me ready to discover my next favorite read!
2) AUDIOBOOKS! I know they aren't for everyone, but I really enjoy them on my 45 minute commute each way to and from work and I get a lot of book read to me in that time.

One of my read-a-thon tips is don't get too comfortable, because then you fall asleep! (guilty, happens every time!)

My tip, especially when struggling to get interested in a new book, is to be in a situation where you can't do anything else. I read on the train, & usually get into a book fairly quickly. Or at home, once my cat goes to sleep on my lap I'm not allowed to move - until it's time to prepare food ;-))
