Tr1sha | 283 comments I am so pleased I got the trilogy. The first book took me a while to read & I wasn’t sure if I wanted to continue - but once I started the second part it seemed to improve all the time. It was very creative & clever. My favourite feature was the daemons, which I thought were wonderful.

I read the first book in the series and decided not to continue. For me, the first part held so much promise that just fizzled in an ending that was supposed to be shocking and make me want to read the next book, but was really just transparent, manipulative, and disappointing. For me.

The first book is not as good as the other two, but I can see how they are not for everyone. The first book has definitely been given too much hype.
