What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

Hey all! I'm trying to find a book that i read about a year ago but i can't remember the title or the author, so i was hoping someone could hopefully help me out :)

The first one is about a woman (i think she is a doctor or a scientist, and i think it takes place in Alaska or somewhere that is cold and snowy but i'm not positive) who is on the run from a company (i think she may have worked for them?) that is implanting microchips and devices into people to basically turn them into super-soldiers. A group of men is sent to rescue/protect her and they kill one of the super-soldier and see that he has a wire implanted in him that runs down his torso and is implanted into his leg/groin area. The main hero tells the woman to check if she has one, and she is surprised to find out she does, and that is how the corporation is tracking her and can tell that she is still alive (i think i remember there also being a microchip on her head and she gets one of the rescuers to pry it off, but it is difficult because it has tendrils that are embedded in her as if it is a part of her).


That's all I can really remember right now but if anyone has any ideas what book this might be I'd appreciate some help!

I've removed the second book from this post and will post it separately. I read this book about a year ago

No, that's not it :( . In the book i read, the hero and his group are not super-soldiers or enhanced, and from what i remember they were unaware of the existence of the "super-soldiers" until they encountered them.
